“Tens of feet” was an intentional in-world choice by Brandon. The Rosharan number system is based around 10. Even their calendar is organized by tens. Much like someone in Europe would think in meters instead of feet, someone from Roshar would think in tens not dozens. This video was super fun, thank you Merphy and Korey!

Aww Merphy is so tricksy!! That line from WoK is the Prelude to the entire series, which is not very recognizable. Then the Prologue to the book is 'Szeth wore white' which is very recognizable.

Death's End is tough. I listened to the audiobook for a while wondering if I was mistaken about that book being a sequel to the others.

Korey: "I guessed Stormlight!" Merphy *screeching*: "THAT'S NOT THE SAME!" I get it Merphy, my husband is a sneaky man as well 😂 All the novels he's ever read is because I read them to him before bed. If I didn't do it, though he loved the shared experience with me (and my soothing voice lol), he would not pick up a book for himself. Maybe only through audiobook, and even then... 👀

I think there might be a small handful of books where I could recall the first line. I just started Service Model and I'm only 31 pages in and can't recall the first line. I think the final score was 6.75 to 5.5 or something. Korrey wins again.

Philip dragash audiobook of lord of the rings is a masterpiece. Movie soundtrack, voices like the movie for each character, ambient sounds (wind, footsteps, river close by, doors openning etc). Its amazing. Ive reread lotr 4x and the 4 times i used it. Its like watching a movie of the full book
