I used to layer it up (at least six deep) and then apply the scissors cutting it into 6-8mm strips. Clamp it in and they can only grab a single easily eaten strip at a time. I never considered pre-feeding though. Very interesting idea.

Give your tangs all the algae they need with "seaweed extreme" in pellet form. Tangs love it and none of the nori mess.

Great interesting trick! I was wondering ..., Your corals seem to grow so much faster than mine. are you still using the same salt ,calcium reactor media , Do you have a calcium reactor? What are your w/c amounts/sequence. Are you dosing? (the whole story) Thinking of changing my calcium reactor media. Seems like everyone uses Reborn form TLF. I'm using Tunze's media in the big Tunze calcium reactor, Controlled by the Tunze 7000 Smart Controller. With the 9430 skimmer from Tunze. The rest is on a 5x8 power-bar Apex with 8 modules. The parameters are extremely steady, no fast growth tho...maybe that's a good thing? I noticed the coral bone structure to be a lot stiffer than the frags from my LFS. Dkh is 7.7 and Ca is 415, should I keep it higher? It's been like that for months. I have about 70 sps medium and small colonies, Acanthasteras, and other juicy colorful Visual delights. It's a typical 180GL ML display /236GL total with a custom parallel flow sump of my own design. (Each overflow has a double sock reception chamber that leads to a center collection/treatment/return chamber). Very simple. I inject the tank with micro bubbles every 4hrs for 3 minutes (this does wonders for water clarity, PH, exfoliating coral tissues and overall fish skin health). 12 fish incl 6 Tangs is a lot of feeding, my system is no way a low nutrient one. Lighting is intense (8x80w Ati /4 actinics/3 blue+/1 purp+) . PAR is at the bottom 320 to 550 close to the surface in the intense photo period. I run a typical 4hrs ramp up from Led lighting in the morning (eye candy/wake up lighting) then its coral food lighting at noon (Intense t5 lighting for 4hrs) and the evening is again 4hrs of Led (eye candy lighting). Immense flow from 2X WAV kits and a pair of Gyres in the back of the structure. Temp is kept at 77-78 with a chiller.(4 temp probes = overflows, tank and sump) Ph is 8.35/8.45 (2 probes = tank and sump) Mag is constant 1380 Dosing A-B-C-D and Mag from RedSea. Adjusted according to my weekly testing regime. Food is A-B from RS for corals and LRS reef frenzy/spirulina brine/Sea Veggies for the fish. 15ml of No3:Po4-X every day. Using the blue bucket salt from RS /10% w/c weekly. About 2hrs of tests every week-end with RS test kits before the w/c. thank you.

Hi! I have an Otto who has eaten all the algae. I bought some Nori and as soon as I put it in the tank he went straight to it, unlike anything else i offered him. The Molly and Gourami also went for it and frightened him off. Now he won't go near it. The Molly just rips it to pieces and the Gourami does the same but then spits it out. Any suggestions to get my Otto fed with Nori?

Ahmed Dahb possible ph swing at night, try a planted refugium with opposite lighting cycle from your tank, will also solve other problems but hard to say without knowing your tank setup/build. Sorry if all I could give is a vague answer atm.

You might as well go for a 2,000 gallon tank. Call it your retirement tank Lmao. I'm looking at the oversized cylinder tanks myself, has a bar table top around the outside for entertaining.

Mr. Saltwater Tank TV I was doing volume calculations, 12ft x 4ft high is around 3,380 gallons. It could replace your dining room table Lmao. I was looking at cylinder and D ended raceway tanks after considering fiddler rays and cat sharks. I like the self cleaning aspect brought over by aquaculture reapplication =) I think it might work with rock anemones and star polyps with mixed butterflies and such, also considered a zebra moray eel since there docile. But still researching.
