I am age 70 female living in the USA. I have been taking 5,000-10,000 IU of D3/K2 daily for five yrs now. I get tested yearly. I keep my vitamin D levels around 80. The only side effect being good health ! Less body and joint pain. Rarely get infections.

@@007nadineL , that's not true - it depends on your own body, age and health. For the young outdoorsman 1K might be enough. I'm 64 with a history of cancer. My doctor recommends 10K IU daily to keep my level between 50 to 60. You can't make a broad prediction of what every human needs - it's individual.

So you can get checked by blood levels from your doctor, probably the best as insurance would cover it. You can get vitamin D and even a covid19 antibody test done from kits sent to your home. You should google, check your own blood tests and you will see many compnies. Quest offers it, questdirect.questdiagnostics.com. there is the link. You can also easily check your bone mass levels on a Withings Body+ scale. This number corelates to the same number that your vitamin D level is. Also the scale is currently 20% off on amazon for $80. Its a smart scale with good tracking. Here is a link for it. Good luck. www.amazon.com/dp/B071XW4C5Q/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_f6L4EbBWZTR1A

Around 5 years ago I had muscle spasms around my heart. After some blood tests it turned out that my vitD levels where shockingly low. I was given a shock dose and was told to carry on taking vitamin D for as long as I live in the UK. The spasms stopped and ever since any cold/flu that I get is over in about 2-3 days (I used to suffer with these for at least a week if not two before that!). I didn't really make the connection until recently, I was just happy I was doing better when it came to respiratory infections. Great job John & Rahul for spreading the word! Such a small thing that can potentially make a big difference (also easy to test)

I also take 4,000 mgs vitamin C. At 63, I have excellent bone density, blood pressure, blood sugar and triglyserides. Not on any drugs. I WILL NEVER TAKE A COVID VACCINE, which will be tested on the population should they ever design one. It's called "post marketing surveillance". Would love to be checked for Covid-19 antibodies. I have been on 5,000 ius of Vitamin D3 starting in 2013. September 2019 started K2 with 10,000 ius D3. The end of January I got something that started with a slight sore throat then gave me a headache, body aches, my temp went up to 100 for a moment, chills and I was so tired. For 3-5 days. The sore throat only lasted like the first day. I can’t remember if I ever got a cough. This was something I had not experienced for years, if ever. I am 56. I got better. But sometimes my chest bothers me slightly and I seem to get tired quicker.

My doctor wrote me off when I kept asking to have my vitamin d levels checked and then apologized when my levels came back at 10 and should have been at 80. She figured because I was a young white woman living in Phoenix I couldn't possibly be deficient. I used to always get bronchitis and sinus infections galore until I got my levels up. It's insane how many doctors in the US think vitamin d is non essential.

Most medical doctors are not trained in nutrition and they only think about giving medicine, not telling patients about improving their diets to better their health. For example, my thyroid issues disappeared after I got a Vitamix and started drinking a lot of healthy fruit and vegetable smoothies. I brought it up with my endocrinologist and he half-heartedly agreed that maybe eating those healthier foods helped bring my thyroid levels back to normal. Glad you are feeling better!

He would not give me a prescription for more. So I went to the store and bought my own. How are these doctors not listening to us even when its written for them to see. They don't want us to know that building up our immune systems will help in fighting this virus. Its all about big pharma and making money on vaccines. Now they want to stop selling vitamin D in stores. Crazy every time I go to the store if they have some I buy it also vitamin C K and Zinc.

AMAZING interview. Just one thing I would observe about UV radiation and corona: it kills the virus on the air. So, more UV radiation, the less virus hanging on the air (at leats on opening) what means less viral load when a person gets infected on outside. SO, looks like sunlight is a win-win condition, it helps to protect us and helps to kill the virus.

Wow. A wonderful program. May it save many lives. Hmm. He recons he's borderline obese. If so, I border obese from the other side, whatever that is. So I used to think myself as fit and clever; now I see am am fat and clueless. When this is over, and those the gods have driven mad have gone on to destruction, there might (or might not) be time to address my own chief concern. I hope I can find this brilliant and resourceful man; he would be an inestimable help. Thank you again for your wonderful video. The world is full of irony. I have a motorboat sunk but still in the boathouse and a few fit men could patch her, raise her and haul her away on the idle trailer. When I hear access to health care is limited by flood waters I scream, "Take my boat!" Oops. It's half a world away. But I'll bet there are more suitable small boats in better shape people would gladly donate, and which might be carried in bulk far more cheaply. I see a chessboard and a trophy. I told you he was smart. Thank you again.

I'm from the USA too. I'm also tired of seeing riots and protesters not social distancing. COVID rates are rising in my state of SC and my town has now been called a hot spot. Instead of seeing interviews like the one Dr John just did all we see on the news is about riots, protests and fighting over historical monuments. We need life saving information like we get from Dr John. It's so sad to see what is happening and how the lockdown ended in the worst way possible - with thousands together in the streets.

This is so important. I think a lot of people in the US think as long as they wash their hands and stay six feet apart, that's good enough. Thank you for emphasizing the importance of taking vitamin D, boosting your immune system, and also opening windows instead of breathing recirculated dirty air indoors. No wonder the poor workers in factories, grocery stores and other enclosed places are all testing positive for Covid-19.

About Australia: we had relatively low cases, but the east coast and Victoria had it worst and still do. I wondered if that might have been because in those states in particular, we spent all summer shrouded in smoke from the bushfires and/or avoiding the outdoors because of smoke and so we didn't get our summer vit D doses the same as everywhere else in Aus did. Our family has significant risk from co-morbidities for three of our members (including me), so I have been giving us all vitamin D3 (and zinc and vit c) every day. Thank you so much for your info, Dr. John. I'm so grateful I stumbled on your channel back in February.

I think i burned myself in the sun today while building a greenhouse and while eating icecream. Since there is no job to go to right now I have been working on and around the house since the end of april. Its a warm summer in finland right now, 10 day prognosis says sunny and >=22°c every day. I have been eating vitamin supplements (sometimes with zink) during the winter and i still do. I have had only some minor signs that i thought could develop into a cold this winter, until february when i had the only real cold and low fever for 4 or 5 days. I usually have colds about 2 or 3 times per winter. Maybe vitamin d plays a part.

I am totally impressed with Rahul and other participants in this study. Considering that this research was not funded by any organization or government and done with the good will and time charity of the participants is even more impressive. Compare these gentlemen's efforts with the World Health Organization and the near billion in funding they receive, yet they can't even figure out if masks are effective or not. The WHO's contradictory advice of the last 6 months has been appalling. Thank you Dr John for your steadfast promotion of good science and your deductive reasoning about Vitamin D.

Let’s hope this urgent message gets picked up by international media quickly and people become aware of the urgency and logic behind getting vitamin D3 in tablet form plus vitamin K and Magnesium from food or supplements. This information could literally prove life saving for many. Waiting for data to be published, pier reviewed is a luxury we don’t have it seems. Plus there seems to be little harm and so much benefit to taking action now.
