All of the inter Miami player felt lucky because of Messi. It change the way they play the game. It opened their eyes, even the other team. Surely, MLS will be able to raise their game because they witness magic.

Jeeezus that series of passing on Messi's goal was unreal. I prefer basketball over soccer, but as a former point guard I really appreciate anyone in any sport who has great spatial awareness and court/field vision to anticipate and facilitate plays. Making everyone around them a better player.

It's in part a fire Phil Neville effect. Tata Martino always attacks with five, defends with five; the players know what to do. Phil Neville... Well, he's a good man, I think.
@stevenygabbyperez69510 ай бұрын
Phil Neville had this team looking like they were each given a different game plan. He is so bad at coaching football. 😂
@Jeffisboredd10 ай бұрын
Your dad's spot on about Phil Neville, he was the biggest case of nepotism ever. Was dreadful since the start but never got sacked cause he's Beckham mate. Thankfully tata Martino took over an experienced coach who had managed barca, Argentina and has been champion in MLS before.
@theboywonder72110 ай бұрын
Tata Martino is the coach at inter Miami now. He won the MLS cup with ATL utd in 2018. That's a team you should react to. 2018 ATL was insane Almiron & Martinez 🔥. Martino also coached Messi at Barcelona and and Argentina men's team
@gian813410 ай бұрын
Good reaction! You are right. Tata Martino has brought balance to the team. Its obvious what Messi does the team but they're playing well as a whole. I really like all the young additions from South America, as well.

Great reaction, lads. Daz, you are correct. Phil Neville is an embarrassment. Tata Martino was an excellent hire. He's been an MLS champion with Atlanta United and coached Messi with the national team before. Both of our boys, Drake Callender and Benjamin Cremaschi, were invited to play for the USMNT. Cremaschi is born here in Miami of Argentinian parents, so I'm not sure if he is gonna play for us or Argentina yet. #GoHerons

That Red Bulls goal is just so goddamn filthy it's unreaaaaaaal. Last week or so, he delivers a ball that almost just ruffles the hair of a defender, but lands just short of another from like 30 yards out. Now he delivers a non-spottable pass in a 20-ish one-two to himself for the goal. Like what bro? But also, yeah, that touch by Jordi Alba... Wow. And people are still trying to devalue what a legend he has been to the game. This gushing comes from a Liverpool fan btw haha.

I'll grant you that Inter Miami has Busquets, Alba, and that Messi fella, but RSL is where you need to be looking. Last time a team tried to walk it in with a big signing (LA Galaxy/Beckham), RSL stole off and snatched it.
@welshxwanderer773910 ай бұрын
Great discussion guys. 👍 Yep, I like number 30 myself Benjamin Cremasci I think his name is spelt. I know both Argentina and USA are looking at him and Messi as well as Miami manager are trying to convince him to pick Argentina 🇦🇷🤣❤️ (the manager was Argentina's coach as well). Tbf Miami aren't playing better just because of Messi although obviously he's had a huge impact. The new manager is a big help as well as Busi and Jordi alba plus of course they have got 3 other new players using the under 22 initiative who just happen to be really good as well 😂

God i finally found someone who thought the same about the RB defenders in the 2nd goal. I was said to be European football fan looking down onto MLS😂 But honestly it's just you know it when you see bad defending... I mean with Messi the least you could do is stick with him every second. Letting him loose in the box when the ball is still alive is just out of question.

I agree that the MLS' players level is inferior but Messi has been doing this kinds of things for years in Europe and with his national team.
@michaelpeli242910 ай бұрын
Messi's salary of $55 mil is over twice as much as the next highest paid team in MLS at $20mil, so yeah I would hope he's having a big impact. Plus the fact that they got Bascuets and Jordi for a Messi friend discount helps too. A few owners are pushing hard to allow more money to be spent. If a big signing to a rival team happened, that would be great. Maybe an ex Madrid team vs the ex Barca Miami team. Loving Messi in mls though, and hope it helps the league grow.

In the league table Inter Miami is second to last in the Eastern Conference (only ahead of Toronto). I think 8 Eastern Conference teams make it to the playoffs and there 14th so they’ll probably miss it. But they were bad before Messi, once he came, they’ve been really good. If he stays for a full season next year they’ll be one of the top teams in the table, just just came too late to salvage this year unless they win that North American Tournament.
@michaelpeli242910 ай бұрын
Maybe they already do this, but with the mls and prem seasons being staggered I wonder why Man City doesn't loan out bench and rehab players to NYFC for a discount, just for more playing time, and then get the better ones back for the end of the prem season. Seems like a win win for both. I could see other mls teams building similar relationships with other powerhouse european teams.

The Miami manager I thought won it all with Atl. As good as he is managing now, he was atrocious before Messi. Red Bull fans only averaged about 6k per game. Sold out for Messi. Pathetic for a 17million metro.

Previous to this Tata Martino was the coach for the Mexican national team, after the bad performance in the world cup he was sacked.

Yeah but that was due to the poor quality of players he had in that team. He did very well with Paraguay, Argentina, Barcelona and was MLS champion with Atlanta.
@yesmyninja685010 ай бұрын
i‘d be cautious calling them „the best team“ these highlights really don‘t tell the story of how they‘re getting outplayed by almost all mls teams in posession. if the teams they played against finished their chances it could look very different. but yes the team seems to be an actual „team“ displaying a great spirit, fight,mentality so far which really impressed me
@yesmyninja685010 ай бұрын
and now winning their first cup (in history) maybe even more so really actually like them 😅

They are at minimum the hottest team in mls. They did get out played by both Nashville and Cincinnati, but neither could close it out.
@joshrinehart1010 ай бұрын
Being more of a baseball/American football fan, I’ve often wondered if Miami’s success with Messi makes the MLS look weak overall. To use the Angels (MLB) as an example, they have Trout and Ohtani, 2 of the very best players in the game, and they seldom even make the playoffs. How much of an impact would Messi have in the EPL? Bottom of table to mid? More? Less?
@sld177610 ай бұрын
One of the worst teams in the EPL signs Messi, plays him in a free role in one of his favorite positions, it finishes in the top ten. (This is in part true because even the bad EPL teams have money to sign quality players.)
