This video presents the bells g1 -h♭1 -c2 [sol3 -si♭3 -do4] of St Nicholas church in Dietershofen near Meßkirch. Two historically important bells from Constance are complemented by a modern bell from Neu-Ulm.
➥ The historic bells [1+3] in Dietershofen date back to 1612 and were cast by the Constance bell founder Jeronymus Gesus. It is almost unique that there are still two bells by this founder in Dietershofen, which were obviously cast in the same mould at the time. The larger of the bells was donated by the abbess of the Wald monastery, the smaller one by the local priest of Dietershofen. This is still immortalised on the bells today.
After the Second World War, one place in the belfry was probably no longer occupied. Since 1950, a new bell from the Grüninger foundry in Neu - Ulm has taken this place.
The ringing is clearly characterised by the very special sound of the historic bells, which frame the modern bell with their sound. A special sound experience!
