Hey guys,
I was trying to make a fun Bard/Wizard multiclass that works well for solo's in Dark and Darker recently. Sadly, whatever I tried, I couldn't get it to be able to fight the meta builds. After many attempts, I gave in and decided that I was going to be like every other bard and multi-class into Barbarian and Fighter. What I changed, was that instead of running slayer, I tried to become the tankiest Bard possible. I got really lucky on my multi-classing pulls and was able to get Savage Roar, Defense Mastery, Robust, and Iron Will. This, when tied with gear, makes us almost as tanky as some of the fighters running around, and we're still able to out-speed them thanks to our self-buffs. All in all, this has been the Dark and Darker bard build that has brought me the most success recently, but I'm hoping that something changes with multi-classing to make the meta shift. Hey man. I love this game. Watched a few content creators but I like your style the most. Just started playing maybe a week ago got a cleric to 60 and thought that was my main until I tried bard. Keep it up. Hope you blow up. I got my first team wipe last night too btw eyyyyyy

@@shokabull there’s an official Dark and Darker Discord server with a LFG feature and all of their announcement/game updates posted onto that. If you just google Dark and Darker Discord it should be the first thing to pop up :) If that feels like too many people, or people are raging/flaming, I started discord channel too. And it’s still fairly small, but there’s a few consistent people looking for group there! The links in the description of the video :)

Great video man, but just wanted to let you know, the fighter at the beginning actually had 65% magic resistance because anti magic doesn’t show up bc it doesn’t include divine dmg, so you have to add the 25% on top of his 40%, also the middle boss room(between troll and cyclops) cannot contain anything above a purple anymore they changed it brother :( it mostly has blues, no more legendarys and uniques got wiped from every single “easy” spawn they had, just some tips ❤️

Thanks! Someone else mentioned that about the fighter. I hadn’t even thought about that before. That just makes it even more ridiculous 😂 And when did they change that? I’ve never seen blues in there (unless it’s norms). I’ve gotten legendaries and uniques from there this wipe, and haven’t noticed anything that says otherwise in the patch notes?

Yea in hrs you can get leg and unique they did change it but they changed it back getting blues for killing 2 bosses is like the dumbest move they did other then loot piles spawning named items lol

that first fighter was actually above 40% magic resist, antimagic resist doesnt show up on stats page since it excludes divine magic

Ahhh, I didn’t know that. The fact I got him down to 15hp makes me feel a lot better when knowing that too haha Edit: Just as a side note… Those were the lowest geared lobbies available. I went in with nothing but a purple rapier 😂

I've been having fun running slayer, crossbow mastery, dual wield and superior dex with a rapier hxbow, and xbow secondary

I like that build too. I tried that at some point before I was making the wizard build. I’m somewhat trying to do something different since there’s a lot of content on slayer bard. And this tank build was feeling great (and something slightly different). Also, my favorite slayer build was slayer, dual wield, robust and iron will haha

Yeah… I was trying to do Bard/Wizard… It was fun, but I was running into too many people with iron will and/or antimagic 😅 If you can’t beat them, join them haha

I mean against that first fighter it wasnt even a skill diff, you played it really well and he held w at you, if it wasnt for the antimagic you would have demolished him

Yeah, Iron Will + Anti Magic just made the zaps and ignites tickle him haha

you should try the grand brigandine and get +armor on rings. I have 43% pdr on slayer bard(so no buckler)

I like the grand brigandine too! I liked that the heavy gambeson gives strength and vigor (especially with Robust). But I might try that in the future and look for str/vigor rolls on that :)

I've been trying to get the spells I want on the bard/wizard multiclass but I can never get all the perks and spells I want together.

Yeah, it took me like a week and a half-ish to get everything but one perk… I gave up after that haha

I am :) I just find what’s fun for me, and do that. I don’t think being sweaty is as required in solos as much as it is trios also.

Right now magic res perks makes it impossible to play any type of casting/magic damage build. Its very sad tbh, no skill involved, just stat checking.

Yeah, I thought true mag or even magic pen would fix that… But nope 😅

@@Deltsong i haven't tested how true mag really works but from what i've seem in high lobbies, it doesn't change much. My biggest problem is how wizards need +10 true mag which costs 1000+ gold, it really disencourages people that dont have a lot of free time to play the game. The game is in a state that i can't recommend it to anyone thats not a giga tryhard unfortunately.

@@alvikin3584 I was getting 8-9 true and it really didn’t make a difference😅 But I both agree and disagree… Normals are still great, and you can make a lot of money from them without even having to do much (500ish per match just from looting around). If your going for cave troll (which there’s a million guides for that online, so it’ll just take time to learn like every other game) and get a troll pelt that’s an instant 3k for someone. High Roller for sure (especially if you’re going into geared lobbies which some classes need) isn’t hard for newer players. But I don’t think the loop of playing for fun and getting gold in norms, and then testing that gold out by spending it on gear isn’t necessarily bad. Although the majority of the player base at this point is try-hards. I played with one of my old friends last night, and he doesn’t like goblin caves. He took a break because when he wasn’t playing with me he was trying to get into PuGs and was consistently dying with them.

@@Deltsong Yeah normals aren't bad. Also you're the one that changed my mind on normals, Thanks ! I always thought there was no point in running them but now i see that they have a place. I think my frustration is mostly because i play wizard and i don't like playing perfectly and still dying because barbs and fighters just W key me. I was playing bard and fighter in norms these last days and i was shocked by how easier the game is compared to wizard, i haven't tried barb but I have a good guess that barb is DnD easy mode.

@@alvikin3584 haha glad I was able to help with that! And I completely understand that. Especially in solos. As a wizard main, making one mistake while people just walk toward you feels the most punishing. Oops, I didn’t haste. Oops, I missed my slow. Guess I’m just dead. 🙃

GG i was the fighter.. skele champ fucked me...smh. i knew you were 1hp but i was low too.. but when i backed up to finish u with a franny.. good old skele killed me

Yeah, gg my dude! That was the closest fight I’ve had in a while 😅 I was hoping one more stab would take you out, but I wasn’t 100% sure.
