A quick video on how to remove the Meta Quest 2 thumbstick and install a new Tardigrade Outdoors Meta Quest 2 thumbstick replacement, but we don't make them anymore.

Thank you, thank you, thank you......This was very helpful. Mine broke about 2 weeks ago. Ordered the parts on Ebay, and just finished the installation of the thumbstick!!! Keep doing the great work!!!

Think u bro my thumb piece broke and I had to superglue it back together, and I didn’t know how to put it back on because I superglue outside of the controller and this video help me put it back together thank you man so much

I've been playing Pavlov for a week on a pointy broken stick, yes "Ouch". I was about to get the hot glue gun out and try to make a glue pad 😂, thank heavens for KZfaq and yourself sir, will order replacements and suck my sore thumb 😢😂

Whoever made these didn’t make them very smooth, their rigid and get stuck in place when moving them.

Without more detail, I suggest contacting the seller for assistance. Aside from that, I'm guessing that you're saying that the thumbstick is rubbing on the controller cover plate. If so, perhaps the thumbstick is not seated all the way down. The thumbsticks, by necessity, fit very tight. Firm, downward pressure for a minute or so may help. If it's not rubbing on the contact plate, then the thumbstick mechanism, a separate part, may need to be cleaned. Clean per manufacturer's recommendations.

I had the same issue but the thumb stick wasn’t pushed all the way down. Once it totally clicked into place it was fine

Thank you so much on this cuz my joystick broke in half due to meta's poor quality build and a little dropping on the ground due to my brothers. I don't have the thing that pushed up the cover what else can I use? A flat screw driver?

I guess a flat screwdriver, maybe a butter knife. I suggest one goes slow and careful. Maybe even an old credit card or something like that?

@@JasonLooseArrowAlso would I still be able to use the joystick until I get the joystick. Like since it broke in half can I take the broken joystick out and have the stick to move around in

I changed the thumb stick on my right controller which went really well. but went to do my left and cleaned the adhesive off, replaced the thumb-stick and it seems the thumb-stick is rubbing on the faceplate. It wasn’t doing this before and i cant fit my faceplate on tightly without the faceplate restricting the the stick movement.

You may have to push it down a little bit further. But, contact your seller.

For some I was playing boxing in vr and wasn’t using the right thumb stick and all a sudden the thing holding the joystick in place snapped in half

Does replacing the thumbstick fix issues with drift?

It won't. I used some electrical contact cleaner spray, and that helped when I had stick drift. But, Meta does not approve.
