Last year 2022 . Lowe's clearance out metabo HTP 36 v drill kits and the 36v impacted driver kits. Bought every one I could find. They were price at $111.57 and w Lowe's credit card other 5% off came down to about $105. these kits came w two 2.5ah batteries tool and their best charger and hard case. Was $279.

Awesome video Jim, 845 was definitely a swing and a miss for DeWalt, not sure putting the XR branding on the 840 with a 3 mode selector was the best ideal considering the market they're competing with in today's market. Scored big wins with the 800/805 and 921/923 as well as 900 high torque so I was amped to see the new XR impact driver.... Thanks as always for the great content!

I would definitely love to find one in that sixty dollar price range , I've only ever seen the 18v at that price, will keep a closer eye on listings going forward.

It took me a few months to find one that low, they are pretty easy to find for about $75.

Prices like 62$ for highly qualified tools truly make me cry as a tool fan:) at least my favourite brand makita tries to give "fairy-ish" prices all over the world

What's Up Indy! Dude we must live in a parallel universe or something...this is the exact comparison I was looking for actually. a better comparison from the XGT in my opinion because most consumers out there don't have the 40v Makita hammer drill. Believe it or not I just picked up the xph14 from HD...I'm going to hack and return the battery..going from $179..to about $89 before tax. I felt the value proposition was better for me on the Makita. I have both chargers and 36v battery for the Metabo, however I have a few 18v Makita batteries already as well. I like the light near the chuck and this would definitely bother me a bit. I'm thinking the Makita is a better resale value, but keeping anyway. I didn't have a hammer drill and just didn't want to wait for a deal on ebay. got the makita for $89 and that seems to be a deal after returning the 5amp battery. I hope ive made a sound decision as I really like Makita and Metabo. I may still order a Hikoki impact at some point. cant wait to test out the xph14..just got in today. So under $100 which hammer drill do you prefer?

Haha, I am always buying tools. I definitely prefer the Makita, I want to get the XGT hammer drill but I will wait for the gen 3. The Metabo is pretty incredible when you consider it's older and cheaper than the Makita, but really does give it a run for it's money. Also if you do other stuff than masonry drilling, the RFC is awesome to have on the Metabo. Wonder why Makita doesn't have that.

@@UltimateToolReviews Good point about that stop feature. I did see another review out there somewhere on the 40V makita and don't quote me on this...but the feature did not come without its faults. meaning if you are used to just cranking through material or wood..that kick feature could bog you down more often than not. Some may appreciate that and some maybe not so much. I can't speak to it as I don't have the 40v Makita. I did some preliminary drilling in the garage and that xph14 is really smooth with a bigger drill bit...I tried with the handle just because it's cool and it's there...no issues going to 2x4s...will try spade bits later and maybe masonry next week. My observation on the 40v Makita so far is that I don't think it's going to be a night and day difference between the 18v line. Like you mentioned...the xgt line doesn't seem to justify its price tag. I do like value and just not enough there imo. it would be cool if the 40V batteries worked on 18v tools like Metabo.

@Swift Raider the hikoki impact is awesome I got mine in forest green collet is a li5tle different cause there's more play forward and back with the bit which I actually like it almost functions like a nailer when the tip depresses to shoot

@@dylanwheaton2785 Thanks for the input. I do have the 18v Metabo hpt triple hammer and really like the smooth operation especially on low mode where I need to use smaller fasteners. I do have an eye on the Hikoki White, black and gold 36v impact. Does not seem like its coming down in price. It's definitely more of a want and not a need.

The biggest difference is that the Makita will still be going strong 6 years later. They are made so well. Great quality stuff. Awesome deal on the Metabo though. Can’t go wrong for 60 bucks
