Dude... seeing all these amazing singers and musicians... Alex Skolnick, David Ellefson, Chuck Billy, Steve Souza, Mike Portnoy, and even just the people who went there to say, "WE ROCK!" like Phil Anselmo... playing one of the greatest Metal songs alive... just blows my mind. Hell, I'm gonna check out alot of these guys who I never heard of like Mark Osequeda, Gary Holt, Phil Demmel, etc. So happy I came across this supergroup. R.I.P. Ronnie James- you know what? So much to unpack. Osegueda channels Dio, Ripper plus Alissa's clean vocals is a revelation, then the two lead singers of Testament in the last verse. Alex. Portnoy and Ellefson are all beasts throughout. The other soloists are monsters. By any reasonable standard the GOAT cover.

Best version I've ever heard. One of those rare moments, very rare, where the remake is as good or better than the original. Dio would be all over this. It pays great tribute to him and does his legend proud.

It was so dope when I got to meet them at the Musician's Institute. I didn't even know they were even coming by, but my buddy's band was going to open up for them the following day, so they were having a meet-n-greet followed by a Q&A. My buddies were like, "Hey! Wanna see something cool?" And they pulled me backstage to hang out with Metal Allegiance! lol

The first time I watched the Headbangers Ball as a kid in late 86 or early 87... I distinctly remember 3 videos. 1) Over Kill's Hello From the Gutter. The band that went on to be my favorite of all time, 2) Megadeth's Wake up Dead one of the greatest riffs and videos ever...... and 3) We Rock from Dio. This was the only artist I hadn't heard at all.... but I remember recording the next HBB and they played We Rock again. I must have listened to that video 30 times in a row. What a perfect anthemic metal song fronted by one of the best vocalists to ever grace this planet. Now, this video in tribute almost 35 years later with artists I've seen live at many, many shows. Everything comes full circle. Amazing.
