This song is a masterpiece, perfect in all categories.

When everything blew up Tuomas was suicidal but instead of actually killing himself, he wrote this song. Everytime they performed it he would have the vocals cut off in his ears so he didn't hear the lyrics and relive the pain that he felt while writing this.

Was listening to this walking a loop on my route and Mother and Father kicked in. Full tears running down my face. Mom passed almost 2 years ago, and Dad 7 years ago. Very moving song.

I'm an 83 years old music lover, especially Nightwish, from Australia. When I first the title of one of your videos I thought 'Oh yeah,metal musicians, they're not going to appreciate Nightwish but I have watched 5 or 6 of them and I admire your attitude and knowledge. Great work.

The poet and the pendulum has to do with Tarja and the episode of her resignation. According to Tuomas, "The poet and the pendulum" was the way he found to deal with the depression after Tarja's departure. The band, and especially Tuomas, received a lot of hatred from all over the world. They lost a lot of fans.
