That thing you found that you thought was a pocket watch, is actually a part of a early 1900's egg incubator thermometer. Nice find!

Texas ALWAYS needs some rain. Most of the time when I dig I use a small 3 pound pick to get the soil busted up.

I found that suspender clip you found with the fancy design but it's not a buckle it's a Suspender clip and it's from 1870's-1900's. Also I found car license plates from 1929.1958 and from the 1970's.

My kind of digging. Just a bunch of cool old relics. Little car piece might have been my favorite. Decorative copper piping was very interesting. Thanks for sharing!!!

Good hunt with a lot of stuff and of course the coins!! I dig the same dirt down here in South Tx, always dry and hard. What I do is sharpen my hand digger with a file or sander and make it sharp again and Predator shovel. When I hunt homesteads I always look for the treeline if any because the people back then use that for blocking the north wind and always built their homes close to that. Good luck on the next hunt

I I saw you on Freddy Dodge mine rescue. I wonder how often you go out looking for gold I love looking for coins at the Coinstar at the grocery store near my house and have found of foreign coins, silver or wheat, and one gold over the last couple years
