Love these adventures! What fun to look for artifacts, unusual rocks, and Gold!!!! Woo hoo! My dad loved taking us on these sorts of adventures ... We never cared about Disney Land our stuff was a lot more REAL and fun!

The best way to look at your adventure is to be thankful for the exercise and the beautiful unique scenery that was part natural and part man-made. And it makes me wonder about the crazy amount of work it takes to move the landscape into usable water dams for who? and why? when?

Hey, you're both living the life that mt husband and I are going embark on in 17 months when my husband retires. We also live in Nevada (Southern) and just started metal detecting. My husband even got me a pinpointer for Christmas. Nice to see others out and about enjoying the simple life. Have fun and maybe we'll run into you sometime if you're still boondocking a year and half from now :)

My husband had a metal detector years ago. Along with a few things in his workshop, open to most anyone, came up missing. He never struck it Rich either but fun searching anyway 🥴

Always a bummer when you don't find a huge hidden treasure 😆We haven't got into metal detecting, yet. We had got one for our son many years ago and he used it a little, but I think eventually lost interest. We should get us one with the places we travel. We could be missing literal gold mines lol.

Always have my detector with me when camping. Found a few valuables like fishing lures and modern coins. No precious metals except a 10 karat ring on my second time out 😕 Enjoyed the video!

Loved your video. I like watching Aquachigger on KZfaq. He does a lot of metal detecting and many other things. We have a Garrett AT Max, still in the box but maybe will break it out soon. Great video guys.

That was a great adventure guys. My Dad loved gold panning, and metal detecting. He also had a Keene Engineering gold dredge that we used in rivers and streams. We found a lot of gold with the dredge in California. Was this after the trailer spring repairs? and how does she drive now? Well have fun, Mike in Oregon.

This video was before the leaf spring replacement video. We did one short road trip/camping to see how it felt and the trailer did better. Not as much bounce and Linda didn't need a higher step stool!

We both carry compasses and we have a GPS communicator. And we don't go too far, especially when Linda says it's time to turn back. (She has this weird sense of direction and what's ahead.)

Do you think the dam might have been made to stem the flow of water runoff and flash floods downstream? Or down gully in this case. Do you go back over the holes after you dig the targets? Just in case there is something else.

Learning how to set all the settings on my detector was my difficult part. Tune out trash, lose some smaller nuggets. Tune in small stuff, dig a lot of trash

I have a metal detector it don’t know to much. How do you know where and when you can metal detect. I always get nervous because I don’t want to be disrespectful or be in the wrong place to metal detect. Thank you for your great videos

You can metal detect on private property with permission, like your friends acreage or backyard. Check the NF or BLM in the area you want to detect in as it seems the regulations differ from state to state. You can do a search online for where you can metal detect and see what pops up. We are novices ourselves and still learning.

Good Morning Rick, Linda. Nice Video on a special subject I love very much. Finding Treasures is something I'm good at. We will have to talk about this when we can, to keep me from going on n on. I alway get inspired when watching your vids. I was told there is a site people camp at in Quartzsite called Gold-Something that Actually has Gold all over the place. That, is where I will camp when there. My father told me once, "Gold is Where you Find It" That makes sense. A buddy who prospects with a group of dedicated diggers found a huge potato size nugget worth 800K. I'm trying to get him to Share the location.
