Nugget, manage your risks, with flashlights,one is none 2 is one, always carry some form of protection, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. We never know what's in the woods, and by all means carry any form of your prescribed preventative meds. Your videos are awesome, nice to see a young man that makes such mind blowing discoveries without four letter words of exclamation! Luke 22: 35-36

Pay VERY careful attention to wind direction after you have been stung. They leave a hormone on you which causes the rest of the wasps to attack. If you reapproach the nest from up wind, they may well come after you again, even if you are several yards away.

Farging Yellow Jackets!! Got stung by 4 or 5 last week working on our house. I was on Benadryl already for sinus allergies. I stopped what I was doing and evicted 8 nest, 2 were like frisbees covered in yellow and black. Carburetor cleaner with the little red tube is lethally accurate!!!! W. Nice coin!

Carry your EPI and your Benadryl!.....Please. Especially since you are in the south. The asian wasp is even more aggressive in hotter climates. They are in Michigan also.

***** What's banned in Iowa? EPI pens aren't and Benadryl isn't. My son has an EPI and we keep Benadryl just in case.

Bee stings seem to stop hurting after 15 minutes. I got swarmed by swamp mosquito one time wearing shorts and still hurting for 3 hours later. I ran a mile and my legs were completely covered in blood trying to get them off of me. I had Off repellent but they bit right through that stuff like nothing. In south Georgia near the Okefenokee swamp. I'd rather be stung by bees than do that again.

Stanley Stalvey Worcester sauce takes fire ants sting out instantly, should be good for other insects. definitely need to keep epi with you in the woods alone nugget.

Yellow jackets not given up their treasure ,I went squirrel hunting many years ago looking up in the trees and stepped right on top of a nest and they filled my pants leg full of a bunch of mad yellow jackets,it was a site to see me running thru the woods shedding boots and pants and all .The whole nest was after me stinging the fire out of me,alltogether got stung about 25 times mostly on my leg and one on the ear my old head looked like a basketball. Great video thanks for the share .

Reference yellow jackets, if you mash one, it releases a pheromone into the air, and every yellow jacket in the area will swarm to the odor. It is a distress call to them. Be safe.

You need to bring you're EpiPen whenever you go out. You just need to stick it in one of your pockets.

Love all your videos nuggett i got stung 152 times while out metal detecting my friend had to call for help im allergic to yellow jackets and did not carry my epi pen with me now i always have it with me

Nice finds Nugget - more in there once the corn's cut - looks like the sugar cane rows we hunt here in Australia - hunt conditions depend on when the crop is cut! HH mate! Warren.

Have you ever been bitten by a Saddleback catapillar? You can find them mostly on the dried stalks of corn. We always called them Packsaddles but their sting is so horrific you think it's killing you. That's the first thing that entered my mind when I say you and Chris in the corn.

+Frankie Cowsert A friend of mine was stung by some kind of venomous caterpiggle on his neck while we hiked in the north Florida woods! I wonder what those things turn into? Can't be a butterfly!!!

King George II! Amazing. I really have to do some of this when I get back to America. I pushed a mower over a yellow jacket nest when I was in high school once and got 8 stings. Fortunately I have only local reaction to stings, but it sure hurt.

listen to the experts, you have a technical diver (by the look of it) and an "old hand" EMT/firefighter who are giving you good advice..carry the pen. We want to keep watching your excellent videos and learning how to find the cool things you find... no matter what stings or bites you. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you carry your EPI pen with you now. I want you to be safe while hunting young man. Just like wearing gloves to protect hands from glass and sharp objects. You need to carry a first-aid kit on your person. By the way you are very lucky you did not get swarmed. Those are asian ground wasps and they are very, very, very aggressive. Their nests are always in and on the earth, not up high like most wasp nests. (By the way they can grow to be 5inches long) Not particularly here in N. America though thankfully!

Agreed. Male nurse here. Any "Small" allergy can turn anaphylactic. People with low reactions to certain medications, can develop severe reactions later on. Throw that Epi pen in you backpack, don't be a tough guy. It's the time you need that your not gonna have it, and you'll be in trouble.

Hey, I like your vids. You got me to try detecting again. Just ordered a Fisher F2 kit, I wanted the AT Pro, maybe next year. I've got an old shaker town right behind my house, and other good places to hunt. I'm in Ohio, so, not as old stuff, and the civil war happened south of here, so none of that either. I know of a old swimming hole on the river I might try someday, but I just hope to find some interesting finds. I'm 55, last time I detected anything, I was about 30.

Garrett Ace 250 for beginners and the AT PRO is great for beginners or experienced detectorist cost a little more though.

Make a paste with baking soda and water, apply to sting, pain goes completely away

if you did not have water with you, maybe just put the coin into your mouth and your tongue can work around it....or maybe not - when I was a young kid, living in this mine town location in Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I saw this old model T - it was huge to me as a little kid....I got inside and wasps cleared me out right away...it was their car :)
