Metal Detecting The Old Swimming Hole

Mike and I head back to the old bridge and swimming hole where we had found American large cents, silver rings, silver coins, colonial buttons, brass locks, Civil War artifacts and so much more. This was another great metal detecting adventure and we find tons of stuff. I hope you come along and enjoy the adventure!

A war nickel! I dug up a '44. Awesome! I always like finding locks and keys. That old brass lock is double-sweet. You two had a pretty doggone good day.

Ha! That's funny! I just found an Iron Man stuck in the low branches of a tree after a creek flooded. My poor Iron Man was missing an arm. LOL. That's a pretty gnarly swimming hole with all those nails in it! That padlock is in beautiful shape... and you didn't even need your New and Improved Pinpointer-Cam to find it! LOL ... (Loved it when your adoring fan waded into the river to meet you. You gave him the proof he needed for his buddies.) Great job, Chigg! Be safe! - Muddypaw 🐾

The Bridle Rosette you found was cool , I had one of my Granddaughters detecting with me a while back , and that was one of her first finds was a Rosette, when I told her what it was and approximate age of it , that's all it took she's love detecting now and has went with me many times , I love to see a kid excited about digging up anything while detecting , it reminds me of myself when I was young.

Went to our Honey Hole two days ago. Found a brand new I phone still on in 5 minutes and an older one that was off. Found a bunch of glasses and smoking stuff. Was in contact with both phone owners within an hour of docking. Very cool feeling Returning phones. The last Phone we Found was a lady from Mississippi. She searched for her phone for an hour and a half. Her party found 8 Phones the day before we found hers. She was able to return all 8. Returning her Phone was really cool. She broke down with emotion when we informed her we had found her Phone. What a very sweet Lady! Thanks Chig for Inspiring us. Finding Lost Treasure is as cool as it gets. Major Fun Too! 😎

I was going to tell you Chigg that them big flat sinkers shaped like a teardrop are called No roll sinkers. They lay flat on the bottom and the current just goes over them. You probably knew that though. I have a couple sinker molds to make them

I’ve found a couple of old locks my favorite a small heart shaped one the size of a half dollar made in Milwaukee by a company that went out of biz in the 1880’s. Longtime fan of this channel.

I found a beer stein lid that was very similar to the token (?) that said das uhten munster brauer bier. It was from the Munich Octoberfest and had the man standing in the exact same position but dressed slightly different. Definitely German beer related

I believe it is an Altenmunster Brauer Bier medallion. Apparently, their bottles had a ribbon and medallion/label design as well. The guy looks to be in the style of a Musketeer (not Mouseketeer, LOL) .... Muddypaw 🐾

WOW CHIGG, I'M AT THE PART WHERE YOU FIND THE ROSETTE, I WAS SURPRISED WHEN I FOUND ONE A FEW YEARS AGO. ONLY REASON I KNEW WHAT IT WAS,, WAS BECAUSE OF WATCHING YOU.. HOW COOL MEMORIES THAT PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE ARE THE BEST ONES.. I LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN CALLED CARRYING PLACE ONTARIO, WHERE THE INDIANS WOULD CARRY THERE CANOES TO THE BAY OF QUINTE AND TRAVEL UP THE TRENT RIVER.. THERE TRAIL IS NOW THE OLDEST CONTINUISTLY USED ROAD IN ONTARIO, (THEY SAY)ALOT OF HISTORY AROUND HERE.

19:07 took meawhile to recognize it but this is the front of a ww2 trouser slider buckle. a lot of gis decorated them with insignia or coins from places theyd been stationed or visited. 19:23 looks like some kind of octoberfest medal from or about munster germany.

Hey Chigg we drove through Hancock past weekend. Not really the town I remember as a kid in the sixties, early seventies though, looks pretty dilapidated now. Enjoyed watching and some cool finds ,thanks buddy👍👌

It's always been a rather poor canal town. It has its charms though. Stonewall tried to destroy it with cannon fire from across the river. He asked the Union officer in charge to surrender and the Union officer said no, just go ahead and blast away, the town is mostly secech anyway....lol.

I’m not sure but I was told that bullet with the 2 rings on the bottom is a confederate bullet. Union bullets had 3 rings at the bottom. And the indentation on the bottom of the bullet was for the gasses to slightly expand and seal the bullet to the barrel and to engage the bullet to the rifling.

Swimming hole. I tried yrs ago to get u to come to my area and check out a swimming hole that's been used since the late 1800s. Been filled in by the forestry service now so oh well😂

Chig i just found out theres a plaçe near bozeman montana where yoy can dug all the quartz amerhyst whatever that you want to... just take a shovel ( and shotgun, bears getting bad in montana)..has a hot springs too

Bacterial decomposition of organic matter. That may be methane bubbling up. That is pretty common.
