The mystery item is a camera-lens filter holder: The Lee Seven5 Filter Holder is for use with compact system cameras and designed to hold two Seven5 75x90mm filters. The holder screws in to the lens via a screw-in adapter ring (not included, available separately). Simply select the correct adaptor ring for your lens, screw it onto the end of the lens, clip the holder onto the adapter ring and drop in the appropriate filter."

Regarding the mini SD card - I've had trouble reading some. When I switched adapters, it suddenly worked! I don't know whether some contacts were dirty, or just out of alignment. You might try it again. Rub the contacts on some cloth to clean them, plug and unplug a couple times. Switch to a different adapter. Good luck!

Was very pleased to see that you restored the Canon lens to working condition. I guess that's one of the advantages of found items - if you break something while taking it apart, it's no big loss. Hope it gets some good use in the future too!

The Canon lens was a lucky find - impressive that you completely disassembled it and reassembled into a working lens. Looks like Cairo's coat might be a challenge when removing twigs, leaves, and heaven knows what else! Thanks for a cool video.

I really enjoy your videos. Really well done. Back when I was younger and had the time and energy my friends and I would dive the local lakes and do clean ups and find all sorts of things. Nothing as nice as your doing. The worse thing we found was a used diaper. Just fully of water by the time we removed it but I didn't want to check too close. We found a lot of fishing equipment, even poles and reels. I would love to join you on your adventures and help out. If your ever in the Portland Oregon area let me know and I'll take you out to a few interesting areas we've dove in the past. Take Care and Stay Safe! Rick

Hi Nora. The device you found that you were speculative about is a filter holder for a camera. It screws onto the camera lens. You can use filter plates that insert into the slots on the opposing sides. One can insert and remove the filter plates with just a quick pick-up of the plate. No need to unscrew the filter. In addition, one would need to purchase multiple filters for each camera, meaning with 3 cameras, you potentially would have to buy 3 sets of filters, depending on the lens diameter. With the slip in filter set, you purchase one filter holder can utilized one filter set on multiple camera lenses. Hope this helps...

Another great Nora Svet production!!! I was amazed at how many crawfish there were in the stream! Catch a few and make a great meal. GOLD! Nora, your videos are the real gold. I keep encouraging you to make a gold nugget detecting video. If you want to find gold in the stream, you'll need a crevassing tool like a screwdriver or old knife. Gold has it's way of working itself into cracks that you will pry open. It will rarely be sitting on the surface where you can see it. It also helps if you're in a known gold-bearing area where they've found gold before. Much of Arizona has gold (I'm assuming that's where you are). Keep up the good work. Cute puppy! Crevecing tools such as dental picks and screwdrivers come in handy when looking for the good stuff! 😃. Cracks in the bedrock need to be examined as thoroughly as possible. You never know what you might overlook as the gold will be deepest in the cracks and don’t forget to check the cracks and crevices in the stream walls. They are often overlooked! Another nice dive!

You need to let those electronics dry ALL THE WAY, Nora. Depending on where the moisture is, it can make it completely nonfunctional; let it dry dry dry, and they might work again.

That looks like a holder for filters if they lost a lens it probably was for the lens.

Great hunt ,i found a phone in the water it was completely soaked a was able to dry it out .i had to actually had to put it in the oven at the lowest temp with the door open. It took a few days off in and out till i seen all the water gone on the inside of the camera lens. It works but still locked. To bad it's a nice phone. Good luck on your travels and be safe

That metal bracket looks like a filter holder for a camera the slots gave it away and would go nicely on the lens you found.

Nora, that metal holder I think is made to hold ND filters for Reflex Camera, used when you do long exposure photos. You found the lens, so this I think is another piece of a reflex camera. Maybe you can find the camera body at the bottom of the water. Keep searching! Congrats for you videos, they are great!

I shoot with canon equipment, I would love to find a lens or two. The fanning method works I'm sure if you are in the right area. I try it every time I'm diving a waterfall, but in Oklahoma we don't have nuggets. So I just end up with lead slip shot weights. lol

AT 4:11 you found gold. There is a flake, middle towards the top of the screen. You will notice how it plummets down unlike the other stuff you were able to fan out of the crack. There may be a few more flakes there too. I think you can use a sniffer bottle to suck them up.

That round black thing is a filter holder for a camera lens. You slide square filters into the groves either side.

Great video ! , there is onboard memory on the S20 . It's pretty big, but also , you might need to download samsungs software to view the photos. I bet you could get that to fire up , soak it rice or plant it in front of a dehumidifier.

7:55 that is probably a photo filter holder. The rectangular filters go into the slots, and the holder is attached to a photo lens with the round part, with a counter-part screwed into the filter threads of the lens. Could be an old version of the Lee brand system.
