Metal Detecting WW2 - SO MANY GERMAN HELMETS FOUND!! [ HUGE WWII DUMP DISCOVERED ] - PART 7

Hello my friends!
Here's a new video for you!
We went back to the amazing dump hole again... and guess what.. we found more German helmets!! :)
I had a guest this time..
I kept sending pictures to my friend AC Adventures, so he wanted to see this crazy stuff with his own eyes.. so he joined me this episode!
It was awesome to dig this hole out together, and we found a lot of amazing stuff!
We found so much helmets this time.. even another M38 Fallschirmjäger / Paratrooper helmet!

Important to know:
This wasn't a grave, this is a dump hole made by U.S. soldiers.
They stripped deceased German soldiers, and dumped all their stuff in a big hole.
The original owners of the items are all resting in peace, and the items are handled with respect.
Finds like these are important, Historical items such as these must be preserved.
We can't just let them rot away.. the items are in good hands, and will never be sold!
We don't care about money, we care about History, and the brave soldiers who fought and died in WWII.
We pay our respects to preserve their stories, and the items they left behind!
Rest in peace, all soldiers who died in WW2!
Why do the dog tags look like U.S. tags?
The dog tags found in the videos are U.S. dog tags made by U.S. soldiers for deceased German soldiers.
These tags were made by the GRS ( Grave Registration Service ) and were used on temporary grave markers.
What i found is a medical waste dump pit with equipment of KIA German soldiers.
These tags are extremely rare to find!

I think it would be interesting to have a list of the names from the dog tags. Some Germans today still don’t know what happened to their relatives who went missing in war. It would be insane to see people finding your grandfather’s dogtag. I don’t know if anyone thinks the same way. Just a thought

I got a cabin near a lake kalled “djupsnøen”, in Norway. There was fight there against the Germans when they invaded Norway, and I’ve used my metal detectors to find many cool relics such as bullets and cartridges etc, and I’ve yet to find a helmet. I will continue the search

That was probably a mass grave. Depending on where it was, either a group of particularly disobedient soldiers, or some poor bastards that were captured by the Soviet barbarians. Someone else can correct me, I can not otherwise imagine why so many helmets would be buried in one spot - from both the Army and Luftwaffe as well.

Shnuff the Pug, in follow-up videos HS explains that the Americans Graves Registration Service personnel copied original oval-shaped German dogtags onto US dogtags to temporarily mark German gravesites. After more permanent graves were established, apparently the US dog tags were not needed, so they wound up tossed in the unneeded equipment dump sites.

@@rockepip I saw that, but just because it was designated as one doesn't mean that's what everything in there was. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to find one. Germans were carrying their dead, wanted to dump the bodies and there was a hole with stuff already there.

Good job digging up history. Dog tags help identify the MIA soldiers, add information about them, link the dead to living relatives, etc. Ethical responsibility motivates one to get this information to those who want it, need it, or use it for archive documentation.

One of the guys even briefly reads one as german information ? . Personally I would value the ID tags above all as being stainless steel they are as fresh as they were in the 40s and can be researched back to families etc .

My Grandfather served in 1955 but his good friend who served in ww2 brought home a German helmet and gave to my grandfather who gave it to me.very cool stuff

They were dumped after the war. Understandably most Germans didn't want to keep them. They turned a lot of helmets into pots and pans, even shovels. You find more preserved helmets in the USA and Britain than Germany because allied troops brought them home as souvenirs.

Imagine if they used one of the great condition dog tags and possibly return it to the person who’s it was if he’s still alive

That’s not possible. Dog tags are only a taken off once a soldier died in battle and the tags are American with German names. If you watched the vid, nick explained that the original German dog tags were collected and each name was printed on a American one

Read about WW2 and then dig the locations you find. Big battles = many dead, much to find.

Wow, what a find. I wish I could see them after you washed all the dirt off. After you clean them to you coat them with anything to preserve you find? Do you restore any of them? I wish I had one. How neat!!!!!
