Pliskin was such a cool character, I wish he showed up in the other games

What happened to Pliskin? He just up and disappeared after Raiden was knocked out by Olga and then Solid Snake shows up. Pliskin was too awesome to throw away.

The way Snake feels about VR here is how I feel about VR today.

Snake never recieved VR training. By the time the technology was available, he was already a legendary soldier. Plus, he hates it. So how come we see Snake doing VR Missions in MGS1? Well, that was actually Raiden seeing himself as Snake in the simulation. They even show actual gameplay footage from VR Missions while Raiden was talking about his experience. We've been playing as Raiden even in MGS1. The whole point of MGS2 was to break the 4th wall and introduce Raiden as an avatar for the player. Of course, all that was changed after MGSV. Then we all became Medic.

*FUN FACT:* The name Pliskin is a reference to a movie from the 80s called Colombo. It was about a retired veteran of the korean war that came out of retirement to have a boxing match against a big frenchman, played by David Bowie, who killed the main character's friend in the ring. It starred Steven Seagal with James Earl Jones as his friend. It was a smash hit at the box office due to it's realistic CGI which is why Metal Gear chose to do an homage to that character.

I'll be turning snakes age this year according to the timeline he was 37 at this point of the game. I feel old. That must mean I'm older than Raiden and Otacon by this point.

i would have love that they put a second scenario. Like, well, we see how Raiden got in and wonder around Shell 1, well the second scenario, which of course would be unlockable after you finish Raiden's, we get to see how Snake entered the Big Shell, disguise as a SEAL and wandered around Shell 2, and the story says so that he defused the bombs on the struts of Shell 2. But, alas, we will never get to see the areas of Shell 2 and it left me dead curious, unless Konamy throws in an editor, to let fans make versions of what would be the Shell 2 area. I just hope the don't do it when i'm to old to play

Jokes and spoilers aside, Snake passing his smokes and USP to Raiden is meaningful, as if to say, "You're the hero of this story now"

I love the way MGS2 was done. The frames were smooth, the introduction of the characters were intriguing. The action, slow motion sequences, and transitions were done so well it kept me wanting more, and it delivered. This was my first Metal Gear Solid game and it was perfect because I didn’t know who Snake was, and thru Raiden you learn as you go on understanding the mystery and legacy behind him was befitting. It’s also the most technologically relevant of the Metal Gear games.

Vamp was shocked because Liquid Ocelot , & Solidus have the same blood & him being like a vampire as he grabbed & smelled Solid snake. He was spooked as he never met Solid snake. To explain all this better.. They thought he died in the tanker & to better explain it thats why he stopped & said "He smells like sn.. Could it be.." Also Fortune thought solid snake killed her father on the tanker who was the marine general. I always thought it was amazing when Snake & Raiden where lying to one another to learn about eatch other. Raiden was being played like a loser by foxhound to create the perfect soldier to create another "solid snake" & as he was thrown into a situation he has nothing to do with.. Or more so he was a child soldier for Solidus. Solid snake lied telling Raiden he came into the mission via a "marine helicopter" as a water bug crawled out from under his leg..That gives us a reaction from Raiden knowing he was lying as when we swam off the coast of Manhattan into the Big Shell just 4 minutes into the infiltration we witnessed someone ( Solid Snake ) take out all the guards on the elevator lift moments before we reached the main goal & mission ourselves playing as Raiden. Another amazing fact is when Seal-10 are getting destroyed by Fortune on the AB connecting bridge. Snake doesn't answer because he didn't want the Marine to ask who are you!? as he never came into the rescue mission from a helicopter with the Frog-Men ( Navy Seals ) who's intentional mission was to rescue the president.. Solid Snake swam & cut the gates before Raiden & the same way as Raiden.
