I’ve always noticed how sad Snake looks when Ocelot finally dies. Despite being arch enemies for almost a decade, I get this sense that Snake kinda cared for Ocelot, or at the very least respected him to a degree. With a face that sad, Snake must have felt something for the guy.

A friend once asked me to badly explain my favourite boss fight in a game. I answered "Two old guys having a fist fight ontop of a carrier, but one guy is possesed by the other old guys brother, BUT that was all a ruse and at some point they have a Brotherly Hug, injecting the other with drugs before they really start fighting, all this only to beat the brother out of the other guy, who than monologues for a few minutes" My looked at me blankly for a second and asked "what the hell game are you talking about" He's now a hardcore Metal Gear I must add

It's funny really, chronologically, the first Metal Gear Solid final boss was between the Boss vs Big Boss, and the last final boss in the series was fought by their sons

No matter how many times I watch it. My hairs stand up when Snake yells “Liquiiidddd!!!” You can hear the years of Emotion/ Anger/ personal rivalry he had towards liquid finally reach its boiling point from over the Entire series. Brilliantly done.

When you tell your friends the arm transplant from a dead man is possessing you but you actually had hypnotherapy to believe said arm transplant is possessing you in the first place.

This single fight is what the entire long spanning history of Metal Gear has led to, and it was absolutely perfect.

This fight is so poetic. I played the very first game back in the day. The return to shadow moses LITERALLY sent shivers down my spine. It almost feels as if me a nd snake grew old together.

It amazes me that Snake was still able to pull those kicks off with how far gone his body was

Kojima in a nutshell: A Fist Fight is preceeded by a 4 minute cutscene of two old guys beating the crap out of eachother.

You know after playing MGS4, i played MGS5 and looking back on it, Revolver Ocelot ultimately ended up just like Venom Snake, only instead of Big Boss, he became Liquid Snake's "Phantom" as Vulcan Raven said in MGS1 "The form is different, but the spirit is the same"

I love this. How Liquid helps Snake, because he loves their eternal struggle and their bond, more than the idea of killing him while he’s defenseless. Liquid found the only person who can best him in Solid, he craves the excitement of war, of chaos.

You know, after saw all metar gear games ( include revengeance), I think there is no real villain, Zero, the Patriots, Ocelot, even Liquid Snake, all them wanted a better world, but in diferents view points, that's why I like this franchise: a beautiful, sad and tragic story.

I legit started to tear up at the 4:30 mark when all the music kicked in and the way they both matched each others movements. You can tell that these two are just too tired of fighting after all these years and just want to go out with a bang. This fight means so much more emotionally when you understand the entire history of MGS 1,2,3,4, and 5.

My grandpa do that sometimes, he calls his old friend and both fight on the house's rooftop...I walk by while they punch each other and be like "Hey guys, want some lemonade or something?"

I cant believe this was one of my last block buster games i ever got. I picked it up at midnight at blockbuster and beat it in 12 hours after release and couldnt believe how amazing the entire story and ending was. Ill always miss yesterday

Okay I'm going to post this here as well because a lot of people seem to don't understand how Liquid Ocelot works. A LOT of people think Ocelot just got possessed by Liquid because of an arm, and a lot of people think Ocelot is just pretending from start to finish. Actually both are kinda correct and kinda wrong. Liquid possessing Ocelot WAS a ruse to trick the patriots (at start). They thought they could deal with Liquid since they did so before with MGS1. Ocelot was hypnotised, drugged and had nano machines implant Liquids personality. This was all under control, all so that he could emulate Liquid. But during MGS2 it got out of control, and Liquids personality started "possessing" Ocelot. Liquid would unwillingly emerge from Ocelot. Since he could not control this, Ocelot had the nano machines, and arm removed. But it was to late. So in a way, Ocelot started pretending he was Liquid to trick the patriots, but acting like someone for so long can have extremely negative effects on your mind. Thus he started acting more and more like Liquid without even controlling it. Two options are available, either Liquid really started possessing Ocelot. OR Ocelot acted like Liquid for sooooo long that he just unwillingly started thinking he really was Liquid. Both can be correct, and both are left in the shadows for the audience to decide. But in both scenarios Ocelot became the victime of Liquid either by possession or self inflicted schizophrenia.

The entire game, he's Old Snake. It's evident he hates his current state and that he's a shell of how he used to be, but still perseveres for the mission. Here, thanks to the nanomachine injections and his biggest rival before him, he's no longer Old Snake. No more aching back or stiff muscles. Solid Snake has returned. The lifebar reflects this. Bravo, Kojima.

This is the best way to end a series of amazing games.

I've never thought about how, after the MGS3 phase, it shifts to the MGS4 music. This is important because, this fight about the way they've been over their history together, shown through the hud and song changes. I always saw the last phase as the "they're just fatigued after fighting so hard", but no, the MGS4 phase *IS* them being so tired. They've fought for so long, they just want it to be over, they're *tired of it all.*

MGS4 was actually the first game I played in the series. For some reason, I just never played 1-3. After playing this game, I went back and played 1-3.
