This video contains a compilation of all the cutscenes that involve Liquid Snake. I did not place the codec calls between Solid Snake and Master Miller. Liquid Snake is the iconic antagonist in the Metal Gear Solid series that first appeared in the original entry on the Playstation 1 in 1998. Though Solidus is my favorite Snake, I still consider Liquid a very fun character to follow; especially because of the fantastic voice work by Cam Clarke. The dichotomy between him and David Hayter is masterful. I hope you enjoy.

When I first played MGS2 and 4 back then I thought Liquid was a goddamn mastermind in the main plotline. Then the twist came out that Ocelot was just committing a little tomfoolery. He's a good character too but it would've made sense that Snake punched Ocelot so hard that he went back to his old self again.

What I find funny is when 'Miller' brings up Snake being part-Japanese during the latter's second encounter with Raven, with Snake questioning Miller's knowledge as to his half-Japanese heritage, a question Miller leaves unanswered; what makes this funny is that Peace Walker revealed Miller himself is half-Japanese, which he could've told Snake to ward off suspicion in MGS1. EDIT: yes, I know Peace Walker came _after_ MGS1 and that Liquid knowing Miller to be half-Japanese is potentially unlikely

I was at MGS Con at the LAX Hilton this past weekend (7-15-23) and before I met Cam Clarke, I watched this video while in line to find a quote for him to write! Then it hit me, "Have at you, Snake!", He even said out loud in the voice before I even finished asking him to write it! That line unlocked a core memory of me hearing it so many times when I kept failing to beat him on top of REX when I was 11!

Cam Clarke as Liquid Snake was one of my favorite parts of MGS1 and that's saying a lot given the *many* excellent performances the game had. Liquid himself, at the end of the game was clearly super-human and I can't figure that anyone was shocked at the revelation that Solid Snake was the inferior 'garbage' twin while Liquid was the 'dominant' one.

Liquid was just bad with genetics. He had the recessive genes (blonde hair is recessive) but those recessive genes were superior for warfare. He had naked snakes cutthroat ruthlessness his durability and his grudge against the world. Snake had the dominant genes but those genes were inferior for warfare, hence why snake and big boss possess both similar empathy for enemies and charisma.

@@mattmadill8668 Well I’ve also been working on a moveset for him, he has much more potential then Liquid does. Once I finish my moveset for Liquid I’m going to finish Solidus’s moveset. Also there are two different features I might add but I’m having a tough time figuring out how to implement them. His P90’s fire real bullets and I don’t think Smash allows a firearm to fire real bullets. There’s also his Snake Arms which he ejects them in middle of his boss fight to make himself faster and gain another attack, should there be an option to eject them in Smash?

And when he's not bothering Snake; he gets bored and annoyed very easily to hell by everyone and everything. (In the breakroom after the revolt) Wolf: "Did I ever show you the picture of my huskies Snow and Sparkle?" :D Liquid: "YES Wolf. You did. And nearly EVERY MOMENT WHEN WE WERE OUTSIDE JUST AS WE WERE ABOUT TO GET RID OF THOSE WOLF DOGS! AND HOW THEY REMINDED THEM OF YOURS!" Wolf: " :T... how about Buttons?" Liquid: "Shut up!" @@DJ_CurlyheadSolidus was doing what big boss did in mgs4 and that’s to set the world free from the patriots, but he did it in the worst most inhumane way possible. Just like liquid, he had no loyalty honor or empathy to attain those goals. Solid snake is the only one who fulfilled the true meaning of the Boss will that was misinterpreted by both big boss and zero.

It's a shame we never got Cam Clarke back after MGS1 (yes I know he had a few lines in MGS2). I know it would've been a bit silly hearing Cam Clarke's voice coming out of Ocelot in MGS4 but that would've been the least silliest thing in the MGS series lol

@@Facelessman254 if you understood liquid you'd realise that he's not a pawn and refuses to be one. He doesnt take orders from nobody. Grey fox went actually insane and started butchering everyone in Shadow Moses base for no reason just because he wanted to "feel" something he was sick, going crazy and just wanted to die. Liquid would never do that. The reason Liquid killed Grey Fox is because he caused them a lot of trouble and lost lots of their men.

It's great. I like analysing fictional characters, in my spare time. Liquid and Snake are supposed to have the same IQ (180) and are twins. The interesting thing here is a combination of what are the deficient genes vs what liquid thinks is the dominant and, also, environmental influences from both their individual upbringings. Liquid grew up knowing he's not an individual, just a clone of the government to make a super soldier and hates the world for being the reject in that experiment. Snake on the other hand was raised up by the US? government, treated as the best and had a contextually better life than Liquid. Snake and Liquid both agree they enjoy battle and killing so this is their nectar and honey. Liquid is 100% on all the dark triads and is just the almost impossible genius who knows how to manipulate anyone, isn't intimidated, doesn't mind killing, doesn't mind deception, all negative triads he will use to his advantage or "ace in the holes". Snake on the other hand does show signs of emotion on the positive. Possible love for Meryl, sympathy when Grey Fox dies, friendship with Otacon and even forgiving the Colonel for lying and even putting Snake in more danger; he still swallowed his pride and knew it was the right thing to do for the world. It's completely understandable why Liquid is the way he is, I would argue he has been written as one of the most accurate portrayals based on his hatred for the whole world for basically making him (a clone of big boss) and essentially has an identity crisis as he's not really his own person (As he says, any future him or Snake have are not really theirs). I think the irony is that Liquid could be dominant one if he put his ego to one side and trusted people more but can't because of his upbringing. I would argue Liquid is 100% a much better strategist and could have got the better of Snake a lot of times in their encounter but, again, his pride and ego (or using him to exploit and manipulate) got in the way and Snake got the better. Snake is dominant because he may not be as smart and cunning but he excels in trust, friendship, better survival instincts and the true main benefits that made Big Boss the true best solider in the world and not the "killer instinct" genes Liquid and the government were thinking. Just to add to this, if anyone is interested, Liquid is such a narcissist that even once Metal Gear was destroyed and the US were going to Nuke them; he still couldn't let that be the end. His hatred and vitriol was so strong; he still had to have the last laugh (even though he thought he was definitely dead at that point). Still, after smashed and battle worn, he clambered out the mech, set up a portable nuke and demanded that Snake fights him (bare-knuckled) to death. If he loses, he still dies (although maybe not actually unless Foxdie as the nukes weren't used) and still can't let Snake and Meryl have a moment unless he kills him. Even after that, he still somehow chases them in a car and single handled shoots and drives whilst Snake has to have help from Meryl (or Otacon). Then, even then, he still have the audacity to get out of the smouldering car wreck and just put a bullet in Snake. I'm actually surprised he didn't go for Meryl first to make Snake have a moment of grief before he would have been nuked or killed anyway. Then, he doesn't even technically die as ironically he becomes the thing he hates and takes over Ocelot and essentially kills him emotionally. I mean it is impossible to get research as they are the only created people and there has been nothing like this (hopefully) in the real world. Very fascinating; let's pray Liquid never gets made. Morale of the story here.

Also remember that the virus only happened when it was injected to solid snake. Cause in fact you cant get a virus if you weren't injected by it. Meaning that people who were vsccinated are actually contagious.

Foxdie is a virus weapon where it attacks the heart when you have nanomachine in your body. Remember it killed DARPA Chief or should I say Decoy Octopus, Armstech, and Liquid, but Snake lived because he had Big Boss’s dominant genes, later on on MGS 4 the virus made him look like a grandfather.
