To all the fans of the game, I hope you liked the couple of references!!! To everyone else - apologies for the confusion!!!
As always to explain - this is a live cover, the vocals and video were recorded at the same time.
This one has been a long time coming and as I mention in the video I could have done any of the many amazing songs from the MGS franchise. The game was sadly not what it could have been and this song was wildly misplaced in game so I decided to give it the attention it deserves.

The simple fact that you have dared to sing such a complicated song and you have done it so well is an incredible merit. You have a great talent, it's hard to find someone who comes close to donna burk's level, but you did it :) The ending cost you a lot, but nothing to blame you for because I would have to be reborn 20 times to do half as well as you did. Keep it up, you're amazing.

A few years ago i spoke to Donna (and agent) to record a very short video for one of the all time great players in MGSV FOB (metal gear solid V) named Filandrianos...we chatted and she was very forthcoming,...she did record the video which was for a wedding.... and I cant thank her enough for that... (nope, there was no charge!)

@StefaniKeogh - there is a fine line when it comes high melodrama and high camp that many Japanese games and cartoons choose to walk, and the Metal Gear series is no exception; Ms Donna Burke clearly understood the assignment when she recorded the original, and you too demonstrate that same self-awareness without tipping the scale into parody, and your technical ability here is exceptional. Well done, indeed. 😊

Holy smokes, stumbled on this while reminiscing on the original. Your theatrics were a nice injection of personality and nod to the source material. Would luv to see you have a swing at something like Ezios Family from AC2. Challenging sure - tho with the way you handled the crescendos here, I'm a believer

Bonkers good! I like doing 1 take covers, so I have an inkling how tough it can be to do it all under the gun. You did amazing on the two more heavily autotuned moments in the song. And it sounds like Donna Burke goes a bit falsetto in the "in my heart I just know..." but, but you don't. Sounds much more powerful.

So I am finally now working on a cover of Phantom Pain! But it's going to be a little different from the original as I wanted to do it a bit more in my style! Not sure when it will be done but definitely by the end of the year!
