"slightly different" isn't the whole game slightly different from a part that came before the whole way? Some parts are slow like the intro, others is creepy like the part leading up to mantis, others is action like going down the comms tower, others is puzzle like the cards keys temps.

@@nobyra I felt like missing some of those things playing CD2… It’s quite “even” or “uniform” compare to CD1.

Yeah they freeze if you don’t equipped them for a long time in the cold

And you can thaw them quickly in the blast furnace area (like the pal key). If you spend too long during the vulcan raven 2nd fight i believe they can freeze there as well

No you didn't, you could go back to here just by using the 2nd disc, you didn't need to swap back to the 1st disc, they simply included this area on both discs.

You can actually go back to all disc 1 areas without swapping. Area, item and enemy data are on both discs for whatever reason. I remember as a kid I wanted to test how far you'll get without swapping back to disc 1 an I got back to the heliport.

Just go up when you're warmimg the key. You have to it's a door that you haven't opened, it might change 😮

Yeah the entire rex arena is full of it, because the fight would be impossible without it.

Problem is the higher your difficulty the lower your item reserves, for instance you can only carry a few rationa. I think on extreme you can have 15 missiles max

Not at all, I thought it was well thought, you're gonna need those stinger missiles to defeat metal gear, maybe someone wasn't well stacked up before the fight.

But you get the Level 7 card from Raven, and his arena respawns Stinger ammo whenever you leave and re-enter. You can stock up much quicker just walking in and out of his room rather than backtracking all the way back here

It's the only level 7 room in the whole game, and the first time you see it you don't have the right card. So it teases you to come back, and all you get is ammo that is already plentiful at that stage. Come on, you telling me you weren't a little disappointed?

Unless Extreme mode removes it, there's tons of stinger missiles around where you'd be already. No point in backtracking all the way here.

Its good to use in boss fights in order to save ration. But a good enough player won't need to use any of both. In that room I would use a chaff.g.

It's like the game was already over by the end of disc 1, more of anything of the game is good to have though and can't really complain. Still an amazing game and dare I say it still the best game ever made (imo not everybody else's). My favourite chapter of MGS4 is revisiting Shadow Moses with MGS4's graphics and mechanics - Would have been so good to have the whole game of MGS1 remade like that. I feel MGS4's style suits MGS1 so well, not MGS2's/TTS flashy shiny clean graphics. MGS1 & MGS4 look more gritty and realistic. That time has gone and now we will see a new remake of MGS1 by today's standards, I just hope they go more with MGS1's direction and not TTS. Will probably be in the same vein as Delta so should be good.
