Ghostly There were still a lot of taboos in the game. Let's see, we had rape, torture, child rape, vagina bombs, ethnic cleansing, child soldiers, we see a child burn to death and we know another died in Ground Zeroes, we have more attempted but unsuccessful rape and death by fire. We probably miss a lot of taboos in Mission 51 like the part where Eli gets shot by Venom and then left there to be slaughtered by the napalm after he shows symptoms of the English strain. We can also assume he left the other kids to die on the island too if they didn't die already before that because we didn't see any of them exit with the Diamond Dogs. Even if there were more cut out, that's still a lot in the game we got.

i think the message of this story is that chemicals in food is all right and all natural food is overrated and that's very current day topic.

Never really thought about that. This is the only part where he's not naive, paranoid, ignorant, or an all around fucking idiot in MGSV.

I was about to mention that. When you think about it, this little part of the game is the part, where Miller is kind of happy. The whole game he is so depressed, it is actually quite sad seeing his character, he never recovered from that 9 years.

And just overall, MGSV TPP was the most depressing metal gear game, period. Just think about it: The old, original Mother Base was much brighter, you had people like Paz, Chico, old Miller, Professor Galvez, Strangelove, old Huey, that cat Nuke... Now for the Diamond Dogs, you had dismembered, angry, sad and depressed Miller, Huey working from confinement, Quiet with her personal feelings, getting destroyed from the inside, also sad Venom Snake whose entire life was basically dismantled, Ocelot I think was AMAZING though, and also Code Talker was a cool character imo, but in general, Diamond Dogs was a shadow of the good old mother base. And the story of each character... It was sad seeing Huey, a very likable character for me from peace walker, turn into this pathetic depressed loser, and I actually felt bad seeing him get kicked out of Mother Base, as he was persistent that he was innocent till the very end, maybe he was misunderstood in his intentions? then he killed himself... The miserable death of Strangelove, that final recording of her was sad, and obviously the death of Chico and Paz. Venom Snake... Oh man... He was literally robbed of his identity, he was left by Quiet forever, hallucinated that Paz was still alive as his guilt ate him because he couldn't find the second bomb, had to go through the brutal quarantine platform incident and continued his life on mother base until he was killed off by Solid Snake and everything he built was destroyed. Miller... Mentally inadequate, depressed, dismembered, a shadow of his former self, who lost his comrades, lost the old mother base and everything he had worked for was destroyed right in front of his eyes in minutes, and basically was betrayed by his best friend in the end. Quiet, who couldn't express her feelings due to the vocal cord parasite and who sacrificed herself to save Venom, then vanished into the deserts forever. And don't even get me started on Major Zero.... in the truth tapes, you can truly see his real attitude and feelings towards Big Boss, which BB never found out. In old Metal Gear games, you have some light-hearted moments, some humour and jokes, in MGSV it is basically non-existent. Everyone is sad, everyone is alone, damn... What a way to end the series... And everyone saying it didn't have story, didn't listen to all the cassette tapes, the story was told marvelously from there, and some of the cutscenes were epic. Man I wish someday Kojima will come back to MGS series.
