I make a patch panel out of 18 gage steel for the outer skin of the A pillar on a 1950 Chevy half ton, using hand tools, a slip roller, a sheet metal break, a bead roller and a blacksmith anvil.

Thanks for showing how you started something that wasn't working out, and changed your methods in real life I've thought this will work to do the same. It teaches us the best way by trial, and error. You do great metal fabrication true artist.

Well, passing over your channel I thought you were just doing the patch panel replacement deal but I'm glad I stopped and had a look because I didn't realize that you were actually making the panels yourself, nice work, I'll be sure to keep watching the progress on this one. 👍

try original Mole Grips , made in Newport ,,,,, they are very similar to Vise grips except the release lever goes the other way , a lot easier to use on tin , especially if your wearing gloves , and cheap second hand off flea bay.

How long have you been metal fabbin looks pretty good...
@WildWestGarage2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been messing around with metal for about 40 years, since I got my first car at 16. Metal shaping has been one of my favourite things to do, it’s only been the last year or so that I’ve gotten really serious about it. I quit my job as a heavy duty mechanic so I could do metal shaping full time in my own shop. Thanks for asking and for watching.

This is the kind of video that I look for. However, I do not need to see endless minutes of rolling, bending, and hammering. You could have done that whole section of the truck in one hour-long video, not the three or four you seem to have planned. I’m particularly interested as your equipment looks to be from Princess Auto and I am a from Saskatchewan. Other Canadian auto-body metal-workers that I watch, and admire, are Carter Auto Restyling, Fitzee’s Fabrications, and Make it Kustom. Give them a look and tighten up yours. Please.

Hi Ken, I’m a little confused, it’s a 51 minute video. I only have a shrinking/stretcher from Princess and it’s junk. I watch all of the channels you mentioned. Thanks for watching.
