At 79 yrs now, looking back at how we did things.in the 60's, I'd never dreamed that metal working could be taken to this degree of excellence. I'm an old hot rodder, drag racer & funny car racer at the old mission track and north west US. Learned about bodywork, shrinking & stretching the old fashioned way with acetylene torch, dolly & picking hammer. All gleaned from books in the new Westminster library. I'd never dreamed of the stretching, shrinking tools, planiishing or English wheel. Covered up my rough work with tinning compound, 70/30 body solder, bees wax & oak paddle. Just a shade tree guy & loving how you simplify complex panel work. Wish I could re do my model A or my 41 convert knowing what I know now. Love yr show, keep up the great work

My late father was a Willys Overland body man back in his younger life and had all the tricks of the trade that you mentioned in our own garage. He was teaching me some old school body work on my Mustang I was restoring back before he took ill. Definitely some of that is becoming a lost art.

There's always something to learn watching your videos, great job! I've been following Bad Chad for a couple years, the ones that criticize him either never get off the couch and actually do something, or they don't understand what he is doing and why he does it. He builds stuff for himself, not a museum. He gets it done using basic tools and has a knack for simplifying the complex. He is not afraid to show his failures as well as successes and doesn't pretend to be a "no-it-all". In his latest video he made a custom windshield for his chopped Mercury using an old bar-b-q qrill! Took him a couple tries and almost burnt his shop down, but he persevered and got it done! Much respect for you and Chad for showing others how to get it done.

Just watching you select out the area and panel you want to make, and then the process of hammer, rolling, fitting, it's easy to see how you're matching the new metal to the complex shape formed by stamping, originally established, and the many ways of pushing the sheet that forms the three D shape. I've worked with die forming most of my life, easy to see how the dies stretch and form the sheet in the stamping, and I am only now seeing how that shape is forced out by careful selection of radius, direction and number of passes, move each section you focus on. It's a real pleasure watching you do this so carefully, exactly.

Was just telling my 25 year old son about you today. Summarized your channel as focused, raw content by a craftsman that is telegenic/videogenic, articulate and of high character, meaning no cussing, nonsense or phony posturing. Very pleased that you have arrived at the formula discovered by many of the top 1% KZfaq creators, where content is king. Something that network programming drifted away from years ago. I feel that networks insult us with programs that are filled with nonsense, when what most of us really want is content like what you provide with your high level of skill, and great on camera presence. No yakking about unrelated things for 2:30 before getting down to business, just getting right to work is what draws me to your channel. Very excited to have subscribed a couple of days ago, and looking forward to watching more top notch content, geared towards those of us that want to reach, and aspire to make really great things in our shops! P.S. The high quality, in focus, well lit video is great, and the limited use of music, mostly for transitions/intro is much appreciated as well.

We need that kind of tightening radius on bonnets on pre-war cars and I always struggle with it. My mentor, sadly gone, just bent them over his knee! I haven't tried a rubber band on my wheeling machine yet (I think only non English people call them English wheels?) but how they can smooth out the walnuts after bashing steel with a mallet always amazes me. So much to learn and when you only do it as a hobby it's not easy. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Your explanations are excellent.
