The story behind this is Suga wrote the demo for this intending for all 7 to song/perform together but then he said he had a day left to turn in a song for the next album and he said feeling lazy decided to rework it as a solo song for just him. It’s one of the unusual Suga solos for being so much singing and mellow. His lyrics are beautiful. There are videos called things like “BTS being Seesaw fans” and they, especially JK are obsessed with both the song and the fact Suga did choreography (he infamously always complains about dancing) and JK is literally always entranced watching him dance like he’s observing a mythical creature 😂🤣. Tae continues his campaign to crash other people’s (the rapline mostly) solo stages as a backup dancer and at a minimum tries to join the stage run through as a Seesaw backup dancer. To be fair Army is equally enamored and obsessed with this as his outfits, dancing singing are so unexpected from Suga. Adora the female voice has a solo career now and was a producer with Bighit for a long time and we love her so much. When I tell you BTS and Army are Seesaw fans… maybe it’s that he does choreography but it involve sitting and laying down (two things he also famously loves). And yes he skips a lot of lines to prove he’s live has since the started getting lip syncing accusations.

The first time I heard this song and read the lyrics I had an emotional breakdown. Just a few months prior to discovering BTS in 2018 I had ended a long term relationship with someone I've known for over half of my life. It felt like someone was inside of my head saying all of the things I didn't want to admit and realizing that I made the right choices for my own mental well being. I also love how he compared this emotional up and down to a seesaw because if you've ever played on one as a kid, I have, that drop to the ground when someone gets off can hurt! The Love Yourself albums had such incredible solos that told an entire story from start to finish but it was this one along with Epiphany that I hold closest to my heart because I can relate to the lyrics the most.

Min Yoongi´s voice, as used either in rap, plain speech or when he sings is ultimate auditory rapture of mine. God how I love him and his pipes :-) His voice is an ultimate mood and can take you on a wild roller coaster ride at times ( Interlude: Shadow, Let me free, First Love - anyone ?). With all due respect ( and I really, really mean it and come with zero intent to offend or negate anybody, ok..........?) but I don´t need any high notes when I can get Yoongi´s growl-y, rumble-y, boom-y, rich, swag dripping voice full of emotions and rawness you can´t match. He has been gifted with naturally sultry sounding, husky, super deep, intense but also relaxed kind of voice, that has an incredible ASMR-quality to it, but he also has mastered his ways of how to utilize it well - when he speaks low, when he whispers, when he has that nonchalant, playful, low key condescending tone in it I absolute live for, when he plays with his breath or uses his manic laughter, screechy highs or shouts, it becomes fascinating, spine tingling and addictive. Another thing - his sense of beat and rhythm - crazy, crazy, crazy. The guy has been my ultimate ( and will always be) and we haven´t even touched on lyrical content of his songs which is a vast category of its own. Seesaw has a light catchy melody and tricks you to sway with it ( before you read pretty serious lyrics). Loving this contrast. He did the same when he produced Eight for IU. A genius!!

Seesaw is my nightly lullaby. Suga’s voice, the lyrics, the instrumentation it’s all soothing to me. Yoongi is so talented and versatile one can’t help but to love and admire him. The thirst trap at the end was hilarious 🤣. You go Meg!

By the way Yoongi when he wants to be is actually an amazing dancer and stage presence that people underestimate. You have to take think these things: 1) he is someone who doesn’t love being the center of attention that also, to me, also means on stage too (especially with cameras). 2) he doesn’t look at camera a lot because of number one but also because he doesn’t even look BTS themselves in the eyes 3) his bad shoulder made it hard for him to dance for years so it restrained his ability to show off more of his dancing skills 4) people forget that he actually use to be a d boy before BTS because of shoulder couldn’t do it anymore 5) he is someone that uses his energy wisely and when he wants. So until he feels like it you won’t see his even more amazing dancing skills and facial expressions 6) he actually was in the back of the dance formations a lot so it is harder to pay attention to him. I am not saying people think he is a bad dancer but that he is a lot better then people give him credit for. (In my opinion)

For me Suga was the one that made me appreciate the rap line. I wasn't into rap but Suga allowed me feel what he was laying down, draw me in with his raw , passionate , personal lyrics and how he delivered them. He got me to want to listen and appreciate RM and Jhope and what they can deliver as well. The rapline are three of the best rappers in the world in my opinion but their is something with suga that just pierces my soul when its just him rapping. He is my bias wrecker for that reason , he is similar in personality and how he thinks and at times he has that sense of humor and goofiness that just explodes lol. Seesaw is top 2 of my favoritesongs with Dear friend being my favorite. Its a very personal song and I have a personal connection to it having gone through everything he raps about in the song with my brother. Suga is an amazing , creative and sometimes complex individual but thats what makes him a great artist.

I highly recommend doing a full listen thru on his last mixtape d3! Some of the songs have a similar sound. Listening to his two mixtapes back to back you can really see how he has worked past his anger and perceived selfishness, and now has a better outlook on his life and who he is. I’d suggest ‘people’ as your next listen - it’s yoongis favorite and he’s said he often listens to it as one of his comfort songs (he doesn’t usually listen ti his own music).

This is my very first song that I heard from Suga, he wrotes and performed it yourself. This predetermined my attitude towards the Bts group as a whole and towards the performers individually. The depth of their works, perfect originality, melody, skill. I have been very impressed by their work for almost a year now.

After watching BTS members for a very long time, we may have a bit of a different outlook and reasoning, but the one thing I can agree with you…. From the beginning... Suga is the first performer to stand out in BTS with performance, personality and humor. RM showed leadership, but Suga showed showmanship, work ethics (working all night long on music for BTS), and each member, and we the fans, have fallen and stayed under his influence. Suga is talented, knowledgeable and kind. He has done so much giving, that people don't know about, and he truly cares for each member. Each member has experienced a closeness (for a time) with Suga, and Suga has been the one to receive the most praise from each of the members. Jino for a long time considered this one of BTS best songs. (Before Black Swan, Stay Alive, and JITB). Yoongi also use to be Jino’s bias. Now it is Hobi but I personally believe Yoongi and JK are also his other biases but Hobi is his main now. This song is so calming and a definite favorite!! I love his analogy of seesaw and relationship (and/or toxic relationships).
