John - First off, congratulations on your recent win! I am so happy for you!!!! This time give Dimash two roses. I'm sure that one flower meant more to him than any large bouquet. I think this time you could keep the simplicity while at simultaneously creating the impact you want from him by giving him two roses. lol (It makes me smile just visualizing that scene.) Secondly, I have been wanting to share this, but didn't want to be too forward. So, I remained silent. But tonight I said the hell with it. (It's a very positive critique of you, so don't get worried.) I'm a clinical psychologist. Therefore, I hope my words have a little more weight. So, here goes. John, you are a very talented young man. You are intelligent, verbally fluent, insightful, knowledgeable, funny, kind, loving and caring. But what sets you apart from many people, particularly men (unfortunately), is the fact that you are very emotionally open, intuitive and empathic. So, if you notice many times you tear up and or get goosebumps over your body, when Dimash is able to transfer truth, when he is in touch with his emotions and transfers them through his vocals. Not everyone has that ability. It's like Dimash is emitting an FM signal and you are capable of receiving that higher frequency signal - and the moment you do your body reacts instantaneously. BUT THEN your brain takes over and starts to figure out what the fuck just happen. "Why am I tearing up, for example?", but it has no answers, because the response is not an intellectual one. It's emotional. Currently, I am a 72 year old man and until seven years ago, I never cried with ANY performer like I do with Dimash. This because he is an A-1 List performer. A-1 list performers do not ACT. They ARE!!! And in those moments of truth/oneness, those that are able to receive will respond, immediately and at some level of intensity. This is you, John, along with most, if not ALL of the Dears. So, John, let yourself feel, stay in the moment, don't go to your head. Just be! BTW, this phenomenon I have been talking about here is, I believe, the major reason why you have become so popular, your channel is thriving and all kinds of people want to give to you. You are real, honest and truthful. Please know that I have not taken the time to share all of this with any other reactor, at least not to this depth. However, I felt you deserve to be proud of that part of you that has been rather confusing to you. (One more thing the pretty young actress is A-List as well. She was that gentle soul who was being hurt by the man that could not give her what she deserved - unconditional love and respect. I’m just at the bit where you say you’re tearing up. Dimash has this effect on me even when I can’t understand a word I’m hearing. He can sing with heartbreaking emotions in his voice, but at least with this song I know why I’m sad because it is a really sad song. Thanks for your reaction here, John. Regarding your feeling toward the restraint shown in this performance, I have a very similar sentiment toward Dimash's performance of "Uptown Funk" in the 2017 "I am a singer" contest. That performance doesn't get a lot of press, mainly, I believe, because it doesn't have (as you mentioned here) the pyrotechnics we see in so many Dimash songs. That's central to why I like that performance, though, not for its showing us again what a virtuoso Dimash is, but for giving us a glimpse of Dimash as just another young guy having fun on a stage.
