John! Thank you! Her father helped her set up her own KZfaq channel three years ago, she has some interesting music there. I’m sorry I sent you the one that had the post comments cut off. She tells Howie her inspirations are Tool, Exodus, Slayer. In fact the guitar she is playing was a gift from Tool’s guitarist and she got another from Exodus too. She has been in the US for a few months now and has been jamming with those same artists. At the end of the video it looks like the three sisters from The Warning may have been front row in the audience? She was just in Nashville a few weeks ago at the Gibson Garage among other places. I wish her so much luck! Love her talent and her personality!

She plays indian classical music, carnatic music, which starts slow and goes on to very fast beat and lasts long even upto 3 hours, its very incricate and difficult. This 2 min act is easy.

According to Maya’s Thank you video, she has strong support from well known performers. Her guitar was a gift from Alex Jones, guitarist from Tool. Also, Gary Holt, guitarist from Exodus and Slayer was there in the audience to support her national debut. He even came in during rehearsals earlier in the day to help her tune her guitar! She is starting with Carnatic Music, which is South Indian Classical Music, North Indian (Hindi) classical music is called Hindustani. She is a South Indian she is starting with Carnatic Music which is a very very advanced form of music, It uses Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Da Ni similar to Do Re Me Fa So La Si. Carnatic Music is known for its Melodious Tunes. Oscar Winning Musician A R Rahman (also from Chennai) and Ilayaraja (the Guru of Melody and ARR) use a combination of Carnatic Melody and Western Harmony to bring out brilliant Movie songs. All are from Chennai, the Music capital of India

Technically the music capital of India is Bengal and no other state can match the musical Tallent which is inherent to bengalies. Most of the well known singers and musicians are bengalies. Every form of India music uses sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa....without it music can't be made. Lastly AR Rahmans music is brutally over rated. Just because he has a western fan base he be came popular and won an Oscar (which has already lost its credibility).

Guy De Maupassant the French Writer said that "French literature is the only literature that has true depth, it is not that other literature does not have depth, it is that there is more depth in French. " Comment on this statement. This is a 10 Mark question. Once you do that we can discuss Maestroes like Ilayaraja, A R R, Anirudh the lack of harmony in Indian music and other subjects.

The interesting thing about here solos was she blended a classical Carnatic Raga into a Metal Solo... the start Aalaap was an excellent fit to what followed... It never seemed out of place. The solo licks had plenty of slides which is basically a lot Gamakas as they would call it... All pretty cool stuff.. Before this she has performed for audiences... though may be not his big on a stage like this... She is used to playing... but getting this good in just 4 years... man...

99.999 PCT OF South Indian Carnstic style musicians ( includes students) and BHARATNATYAM dancers always start any performance, including one for learning as a student in class, does at least a stanza of a prayer to the favourite Hindu deity or do a step for worshipping the deity in dance SIGNS/ MUDRAS. THAT IS WHAT SHE DID IN THE INITIAL SECOND, BEFORE DOING WHAT SHE WANTED TO DO WITH GUITAR. ❤

Nice to see start with carnatic classic which is one of the genre of Indian classic and it’s start with slow notes and while progress it’s notes will go like whirlpool .. very tough in progressive level to perform .. and with in 2 years out of 4 years she almost pro of carnatic in guitar .. thanks to Prasanna sir who taught her .. and after that with the continuation she maintained the western mixed very well.. Maya you will go further…
