Going to explain a little more about Jimin since the introduction was more like a "unappreciated facts about Jimin" thing. Jimin is literally such an accomplished guy. Jimin, since age 11-12 studied, performed & competed (with an impressive set of wins), in hip hop, popping &locking (which he excelled in) & street dancing, while attending the renowned Busan Just Dance Academy. An instructor there at one point even waived the costly tuition fee for him because they believed him to be too talented to be let go. This was while he was still going to middle school, where he joined the football team and excelled in track & field. He then started studying & performing contemporary dance at Busan High School of the Arts. The media even called Jimin "The Rising Star of Busan" in an article after seeing him perform at a huge festival. Jimin also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending highschool; though he majored in contemporary dance in the Modern Dance department. His athletic prowess is not all he has in his arsenal though, Jimin was class president or vice-president for 9 yrs, getting top scores in everything (he was valedictorian when he entered highschool), but especially maths, science & art classes! Jimin has also confirmed his IQ is 128 (same as JK). Jimin received an offer to dance overseas but turned it down, because he also wanted to perform as a singer as well as dance, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors, who said: "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist". When Jimin was a little boy and after seeing the character Zoro from the anime One Piece, he decided that he wanted to be the greatest swordsman in the world (even then he had to be the best at whatever he did), so Jimin trained in Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo, he's estimated to be the equivalent of a 2-Dan or 3-Dan). Jimin trained for 8 years in various forms of martial arts including Taekwondo (he's a black belt), Hapkido, & Chinese disciplines. Jimin even went to China on a martial arts scholarship and is the only student in his school to have received said scholarship to train more extensively overseas. Even the members of BTS have said he's incredibly scary when angry (Jin and JK saying they got scolded by him once and it being one of the most terrifying experiences of the year) and have stated that Jimin is the only one who can match/take on JK in raw athleticism (JK being incredibly talented at everything and strenght focused, while Jimin is more agile and dextrous). All his martial arts training has given Jimin his phenomenal inner core strength as well as amazing flexibility that allows him to be able to do even gravity-defying moves that even some professional dancers aren't able to do (like a media luna, as seen in the Black Swan MV or his well known acrobatics). Jimin has been able to incorporate all the various forms of dance styles he has studied as well as his extensive years of martial arts into his extraordinarily outstanding dancing abilities to form his own unique style of dance. Using his body as an interpretation of the music itself, conveying all the feelings & emotions the music is trying to convey. Just like he does vocally as well. There's a reason why BigHit Entertainment officially gave Jimin the title of both Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist, often helping Hobi in teaching the other members the choreography, choreographing, and even teaching JH and the others contemporary dance for their more lyrical choreos. Jimin has won the title of King of Kpop three years in a row, as well as won now two years in a row the title of #1 Best Top Dancer in Kpop! Not to mention his numerous achievements and records, like being the idiol with the best Brand Reputation in the nation, having held the title for over 40 months (the first idol to do so) and having held the title for over 35 weeks (the first idol to do so as well) and surpassing his previous record of votes (11M+). Jimin is referred to as a Rookie Bible because an outstanding number of trainees in different companies have stated he's whom they admire the most or whom they aspire to be like. Known for his spectacularly mesmerising stage presence as well as amazing vocal & dance abilities, rookie idols look to try to emulate and learn from him. He's also known for his work ethics, kindness & for being an extreme perfectionist, going into the practice room for hours at a time, just like he does in the studio when creating a new song! He is also extremely talented at basketball, amazing at pool/billiards, even ping pong & bowling! Jimin is the most versatile dancer in BTS, with his amazing repertoire of dance styles, all influenced by his experience in martial arts and acrobatics. Jimin literally breaks his body to bring out his best in every performance. Even though Jimin is in charge of the most difficult parts in their choreographies and some of the hardest vocal parts in the songs, Jimin always gives it his 100% and more (even when injured or feeling unwell). Even before debut, and probably because he had the shortest training period of the seven, the members have said that Jimin is the hardest worker and is always the last to leave the dance studio and the recording studio. Bangtan never half-asses anything, and this is specially true for Jimin as he does his best to perfect anything he sets out to do. in 2017, they were recieving popularity more than they ever expected in their career, like getting billboard music award etc, from that time no other korean or asian(?) had achieved that before. That had put a lot of pressure on all members, they had no celebrity seniors to consult to, or to know how to deal with the expectations that follows. So they were all having a hard time to figure out their path, that's why they were all exhausted, especially mentally. And their contract with company nearly end, so they were thinking about whether continue signing new contract or whether disband. As you continue to learn more about them, you will eventually see their 2018 award speech where they talked about this issue, Army were all devastated, because everyone thought they were doing so great futher on, achieving more accomplishments, so no one expected they were having mental breakdowns.

In my opinion, Jimin has the highest EQ in the band. And also he is one of the backbones of the group that they can open up more and more. I love all of the for different reasons and Jimin is one of my safe person

Jimin is one of the youngest but RM and the others had said it multiple times, Jimin is the more mature of the group and the one that always puts others before him, ry thoughtful, emotionally mature and a rly good listener for when you have a problem...

My very favorite thing about Jimin is his level of emotional intelligence is off the charts! He always knows how to comfort and encourage others and he reacts so quickly when he sees a need. Jimin...you are my hero!!!

Jungkook is such a cute easter egg. Jimin is more intelligent than a lot of people realize. Academically, he was a the top of his class, and class rep for several years. At the same time he played soccer, studied martial arts, and dance. He is also well known for having a high emotional intelligence, and genuinely cares about people; especially the other members. He is an introspective and deep thinker. Actually, when you look at them closely, you realize that all the members of BTS have a surprisingly high level of intelligence, and are all deep thinkers. They may demonstrate it in different ways, and often downplay the fact themselves, but the more you know about them, the more obvious the fact becomes. Which is another impressive thing about BTS. It is unusual to encounter a group of young men who all have such high levels of intelligence, and who express it in such different ways.💜

Wow, that was missing SO much about Jimin. He is such a kind, giving, and talented person. I was hoping to see more of how he supports and cares for the other members, how dedicated he is to his art, his background in dance and how he contributes that to the group, his journey with learning how to hone his voice to become the singer he wanted to be... There is so much more to him.

This is the reason he is my ultimate bias. Not only is he incredibly talented but he is such a genuine person who cares deeply about others and is so empathetic. Anyone who has him in their life is so lucky 🍀💜🥰

Hey, Jimin owns an old apartment complex that is in a zone where they are fixing up the area for new tenants, he upgraded his father's cafe... it is beautiful. His dad has all his pictures and achievements posted... for ARMY to flip through - he is not just cute he is smart. I've seen Jimin praise Taehyung for his ideas in front of BTS, and Tae does the same thing back. They both graduated in August 2020 from the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment. They received MBA degrees in Entertainment and Media - so they are smart men.

My understanding on the almost break up was they were having success they never even dreamed they would have & it was a lot of pressure for them. A lot of pressure to keep it up & there was no blue print for them in their country. No other group ever had the level of success they had. They also were receiving a lot of hate at the time….in their own country mostly from the media & other labels. And also hate overseas…racism & xenophobia. There is a good video on their Hardships you should watch sometime by XCeleste. Megan might already have it on the list for it. Really it makes their constant positivity & desire to help/improve the lives of people all over the world so much more impressive.

The cartoon is a series of characters the guys created that each one designed and they have anime short episodes and a ton of merch for the characters called BT21. We adore the characters so much. Jimin is such a uninitiated stable hard working guy. High emotional intelligence for others.

He has the highest emotional intelligence out of all of them. That’s why his voice and the way he dances is so emotive. He’s sensitive with his feelings and can show that through the way he lets the music move him. He’s the most artistic dancer of the group.

At the point BTS was thinking about breaking up, they were mentally,emotionally and physically exhausted. By this time some members had been in the group 9 or ten years, they were literally working, touring ,dancing,writing, producing,filming non stop. They were missing family and friends and experiences that people their age were having. They were questioning whether all this hard work and sacrifice were ever going to pay off. Unlike most groups BTS is a brotherhood/ family bound together by their blood sweat and tears. They had success at this point but not what they were hoping for and were contemplating not signing another 7 year contract,but I think what they were struggling the most with was loosing each other 💔💜💜💜💜💜💜

Let me recommend a song exhibiting Jimin’s heart-wrenching cry, “Let me know”, in their early days. Jimin is so full of talent and he always surprises us by evolving himself further and further. Back in the early days he seemed trying to acquire physically more muscles to show off his power, but as time goes by, he transformed again back to sticking to his origin of modern dancing. His struggles to be better everyday is so convincing, with his voice having been more and more serene. This song is simple and pure compared to the latest one but their commitment is so obvious, you can feel by listening to how they passionately sing this song. KBS’s version is I think is the best.

We don't know the details of what might have lead to their possible disbandment. I think they were just burning out. I have never seen another artist that puts out anywhere near the content that BTS does, they barely rest for a minute. At an award show speech Jin revealed that they had considered disbanding and basically said something like "thank you to my members who got their mindset back together and decided for us to stay together" (that's definitely paraphrased) although we will probably never know which members were wanting out at that time. When Jimin goes on V Live and speaks to the fans about his/their struggles, it makes me think that very few other artists would share their inner struggles so openly with the fans. Yes...Jimin is very introspective and very hard on himself. He always expresses that he is not good enough. Thanks for reacting.

During the part where Jimin read the question about "Boy in luv" there was something that should have been explained at least by the person who put the video together. Jimin answered the question perfectly btw. So first off BTS songs usually have both Korean and English titles. Like sometimes ARMYs would mention a song's English title and BTS would be like "Wait, what?" It's really cute tbh. So since the question was in full Korean I believed that Jimin said the Korean title of the song which is 작은 것들을 위한 or romanized as Jag-eun geosdeul-eul wihan si which literally means "A Poem For Small Things", however the translation here used "Boy with luv" which is the English title as people generally know it. This is just to give some context as to what he was explaining.

There’s something in kpop called the 7 year curse. Usually groups form and if they do well they only really last around 7 years. There’s only been a few groups that have gone beyond that time. The boys were under so much pressure, rising globally and asked to do so much that year. Constant filming, singing, practicing. They were missing out on what most people at their age at that time did. They missed family and friends because they were always busy and away from home a lot. With all that fame, they probably felt eyes on them everywhere they went and watching everything they did. As a group, they’d done so much already but I think each member was just absolutely burnt out. It’s like running a marathon, in the beginning you feel great, the adrenaline pumping through you. But towards the end you start to get tired, how long can you keep running before your mind and body can’t take anymore? We don’t know all the thoughts they had at that time but I’m sure there were doubts and fears. Their decision to keep going probably was pondered for a long long time. What Jimin said in that video was a real eye opener for everyone. They work so hard. But they realized they do it for Army. BTS and Army are unbreakable. It’s an unconditional love that’s eternal. I believe that year, the members saw that, talked it through and then cleaned their slate and started anew. An epiphany if you will. They grew more closer that year. With each other and with Army. Sometimes you have to just have someone running alongside you in that marathon, give you a water, pat your back and say you’re worthy of finishing this race because you’ve inspired so many others. BTS are the runners. Army is that one person. But in reality, “you’re our Army and we’re BTS. But we are also Army and you’re our BTS”Namjoon said that quote. They cheer for us just like we cheer for them. One doesn’t continue without the other. 💜

I am always bias wrecked everytime they perform or they released new videos, etc. But I will always go back to Jimin. Every member back stories are very inspiring. Esp. Jimin. His struggles when he was a trainee. How he overcome having little self-confidence. How he changed his self just to please his fans. I am proud of him overcoming the pressure and be himself more .. But nowadays, i feel like he's going back to his shell once more, being cautious with his actions again. I just want the all members to be happy and comfortable with what they're doing 💜

Yeah….this boy has a high IQ of 128…was called the ‘Math God’, not just by his cousin but also by his peers, subbed for his math teacher all the time and consistently scored 💯 in math and the sciences! Need we say more?!

I am a dynamite era ARMY so I wasn't there when they were on the brink of disbanding. But from what I have gathered and read from other ARMY, 2017 was their first American television debut on AMA, they had a lot, like a lot, of hate and discrimination and the pressure was almost too much for them, that's why they had some doubts at the beginning of 2018, I think. Thank God they stayed together tho. My heart would totally be crushed after discovering them 2 years later if they had...

Thank you so much - Jimin is an amazing person, and often people just see the surface and he is dismissed as a pretty boy with an empty head, or even just a dancer, with no substance. The opposite is true - his exterior is beautiful, yes, but his heart is even more so, this man is very kind, loving, honourable, decent, and honest, and his mind is fascinating - he is a creative thinker and very bright. Everyone else has explained what they were going through in 2017/early 2018 when they came really close to breaking up. It was a hard time for all of the members, the pressure was immense, they were absolutely wrung-out, and it was threatening their love for music, their very core raison d’être, and they were concerned they were losing themselves…Have a listen to Jimin’s song, Promise. Just to clarify, when they were discussing the meaning of the title “Boy with Luv”, in Korean the actual title translates to something like “Poem for Small Things”, meaning a poem to celebrate all the small details, the little things that we love about a person (as opposed to the grand gestures normally written about). So that’s why Jimin spoke of wanting to know all the little details about Army, how he felt that the details about us were important - because they love us…

Jimin is the BTS member that wears his heart on his sleeve. He does not find it that hard to express his feelings (even though sometimes he is taken the wrong way), sometimes they find him silly, clingy and they say he has a praise kink, he always wants to be praised. I am very similar to Jimin except that i don't care if people praise me or not. I guess only they know what really happened at that time 2017-2018, but I think their fame skyrocketed quite fast in 2017 and they found themselves with so much pressure, more so mentally and emotionally. Their contract with Bighit was about to end, so they had to make that decision also. When you're high up, there are only 2 paths: continue or down. They had to make big decisions with no one to consult or help them out. Nobody had made it like them. It was a combination of TOO MUCH, it must have been very hard. The decision of disbanding , I guess, came from the fact of the ending of the contract, should they renew? Is this what they worked so hard for? Is this what they really wanted? They realized how much further they could go, that there was no limit to what they could accomplish (one of the members said this later). Seven different headspaces....it must have been very stressful. I could go on , but this has become too long and I'm sure you can sort of figure it out. I'm just glad they're still together!

Baby Mochi, Park Jimin (박지민), is very well-spoken, like you said, and loves ARMY; he is usually the first one to cry at concerts mostly because he does not want to leave us, and of course, after he cries I am crying too, LOL.

Jimin had the least amount of trainee times less then a year before debut. He mentioned he almost got fired 8 times, so I think his confidence suffered. I am very glad he has over come all that. Jimin is very logical in many things he says and does. Yet he can be very goofy, sassy and makes other laugh, not to mention his inability to sit on chairs without falling off. As for disbanding I think they were just exhausted mentally and physically and who knows maybe getting on each other nerves we don't know the exact reasons other then they said they were exhausted mentally. Jimin is usually the first one to comfort members and boost them up . He loves Army and is always thanking them for the success they have accomplished. Well I definitely can't Jimin out he is a beautiful soul inside and out.

2018 was a monster year for them. They officially broke into the West ie US and EU in 2017 but in 2018 they were breaking all kinds of records because of the Love Yourself series. They did tons of tv shows, concerts etc. They were touted as the new beatles and the next big thing and it was a lot for 7 men who thought they wouldnt make it out of 2015 as a group. They were tired from the tours, the stress, the expectations they didn't know if they wanted or not. So they took a weekend together to talk about how they felt and if they wanted to continue their careers. They felt they weren't done, they hadn't finish saying all they needed to say so they signed an new contract with their agency 2 yrs early and decided to push forward.

They were exhausted. Since the debut in 2013, it was constant. Aren’t we happy they persevered.💜💜

I loved this reaction John, I have a double bias, Yoongi and Jimin. It's been impossible for me for years to ever put either of them first in my heart, so eventually I just accepted that it is what it is. They are both deep thinkers, with Jimin being slightly more outgoing in general. I particularly love their friendship as well, it is quite unique. Interested to see which way you are going to go. It's always fun to watch, because they are really all so amazing as people.

Jimin was one of the biggest surprises to me. Of course, he is so talented. On Run BTS he is so cute, funny, and such. However, in the moments you see him on VLIVE where he talks honestly with fans, his maturity, emotional intelligence and intellect are off the charts!!! I'm glad you posted this. He is an amazing person and deserves so much respect. And when he is not "hamming it up" and such, he is so genuine. Awesome.

Jimin is my utt for SO MANY reasons, and his empathy, emotional maturity, his kindness and depth, is just a part of this reason... I think so many times he is underrated, people reduce his personality to be cute and fragile because of his insecures, but he is SO MUCH MORE than that. I hope HYBE starts to give more credits for his talents, hurts me watch Jimin beind underrated for this company

Jimin was last member and almost didn't make the group, only had 6 months of training vs 2 to 3 years. He worked so hard to catch up with everyone. He is smart , talented beyond words, and a really thoughtful and kind person.

2018 was when, least to my own understanding, the pressures of their sudden growth internationally that got boosted by their 2017 Billboard debut, all the hatred and criticism they kept getting since that Western debut, and even the work they were doing on a constant basis was really affecting them physically and mentally. They never expected to really be this big; even Suga stated in an interview (think for their Burn the Stage doc) that he cried in the shower not because they won the 2017 Social Artists Billboard award, but because he realized that the group are gonna get a LOT more pressure than they already had. It was getting tiring and draining for them that they did sat down and considered whether or not to disband. Jin mentioned it briefly during their 2018 MAMA 'Artist of the Year' award speech aka one of the most emotional speeches I've seen. 2018 was probably the lowest the group was in their career in terms of emotionally and mentally. It wasn't even just the pressures they got in the States; ever since their debut, they had and still are facing hardships from their own country (mostly other music labels and shows). If I got my info incorrect, any ARMYs are free to clarify my points. I'm going by what I could vaguely remember from many videos I've been watching

I think it’s rare to come across someone in public life so a) willing and b) capable of being so honest and thoughtful about what they were going through. I think this series is a little problematic but props to them for including a section of that download from Jimin. Re their troubles in 2018, others have elaborated. It may have been a perfect storm of lots of things together. The depth of emotion that was going on is highlighted in their 2018 MAMA Artist of the year award speech where Jin dropped the bombshell that they had thoughts of breaking up. Suga may be the only one who held it together, what a guy!

Wow I just found out in this video something else Jimin and I have in common MATH. My freshman year in high school I was put in basic math. 2 weeks in they found I was beyond basic and put me in advance algebra. By the end of my junior year in high school they ran out of college level math classes for me to take. I became a math assistant and took computer programming my senior year and even that was too easy. High Five Jimin ☺️ I think him and I have a learning condition in common too, I see the signs. But it hasn’t been confirmed so I am not going to say what it is. He might not even know he has it. Or I could be wrong but usually I am not. 😉

These kinds of feelings toward fans is the reason why they are different from any other celebrity ... who are learning from BTS to love your fans and honor them... not ignore or treat them unkindly. This is a Namjoon effort as a leader. Don't forget this is a society where the oldest in the family especially the son needs to be successful... these kpop idols leave their family... mothers and have to battle out emotions with other members... they have to grow up to succeed, can't imagine the stress... this is not how we do it here in the west.

They debuted in 2013. 5 years of exhausting blood, sweat, frustration, anxiety, dieting, no dating, almost no free time, seldom seeing family, and all the rest. That's what I think happened in 2018. As I recall BigHit gave them time off, a couple of weeks to visit with family and friends with no demands for their careers. No looking perfect, no rehearsals, no photo shoots, no lessons, no one constantly paying attention to their hair, makeup, styling, not being with all 7 members all the time. PS The group has 4 introverts (Jin, Suga, Jimin, and Jungkook), 1 ambivert (RM), and 2 extroverts (J-Hoe and V). Introverts and ambiverts need alone time, a lot of alone time, to reenergize.

Suga have said after they performed at American Music Award 2017 as their first US tv debut, he cried when taking a bath because of how anxious he was thinking about their future. Because he knows that performance gonna bring them another new level of fame that no other korean groups that have experience that. Thus why, its bring them alot of pressure n affect them mentally. Plus, usually korean groups would usually starting branching into solo careers when they 4th year+ and that time BTS was 4th-5th years group. They probably in dilemma about their group n individual career path. And then there alot of pressure by korean medias n netizens too due to their new level of fame to bring more fame to korea.

That's my guy!!! As a 32 year old, I learned more about myself through him ... sounds crazy and weird.

In 2017-2018 they picked in popularity rly quick, they achieved a lot of things they didnt even dream of, that no one in their country or industy had, there wasn't a blue print to follow, no senior to consult... they had a lot of pressure and expectatives and were kinda lost. Also they didn't have a proper vacation since debut, no holidays with family or friends.. plus those years were the picked of their haters, false accusations, concerts canceled due to death threats to several members.... I thing all of that burned them up physically and mentally... their song "tear" is about they thinking of disbanding, is about those feelings.(after we find out it was about that we understood why they sang that song with so much pain and passion in stage) There wasn't any problem between them but an overall exhaustion and stress, so if all your group is in the same thought place you are left with no one to talk... and it makes things harder to figured it out..

I'm late to this video, but I guess some armys had answered ur question abt what happen in 2018. But for me, I explored bts in 2021, that exact video of Jimin telling armys about what they went through was the reason I explore more about bts. I was so shocked? To witness how honest, raw and truthful jimin is in telling about his struggles and the members. I thought "I never seen artists being this honest, showing his total vulnerability and questioning his purpose as a singer". This guy has so much emotional intelligence, he always speaks truthful when it comes to explaining their emotions. Jimin is soft spoken, there's so much gentleness in the way he express himself, that goes beyond his personality, he's very lovable. This video was the reason I fell in love w bts, and exploring them more as artists.

When you watch their 2018 MAMA award speech you can see how emotional they are. Then in 2019 Big Hit announced BTS first official extended break. Isn't that unbelievable, their first proper break since 2013!? You should react to them making their own cartoon characters, they did a whole 'making of BT21' series. They are sooo cute! 💜

Besides the pressure of their growing record setting success, they were facing increasing hate from organized campaigns of other fan bases, and industry pressure against them as outsiders. They were facing death threats and insane bullying, including in the media. The hope of many abusers, including the big companies, was that this pressure would indeed crush and split them, because they knew they had little to no support from mentors or protectors. But they held fast to each other and to ARMY and they found their way through.

Imagine you were in the bottom for so long and suddenly the whole world knows you and want you imagine the pressure they were so exhausted and depressed and just didn't know wtf was happening so they were talking about stopping everything for the sake of their mental health but because of armys and actually they couldn't leave each others either they stayed together

I think you should listens to BTS Tiny Desk Concert so you can really hear their voices.

I belive at this point the hate was going to start decreasing by leaps and bounds soon but they did not know this yet and felt like they were up against a brick wall of hatred, exclusions and lies. I believe if they hadn't given it one last effort with ARMY consistently fighting for them. They may have crumbled. This fanbase did what no other fanbase did or could do. They went above and beyond, pooled their resources and fought, because they recognized how hard our guys were fighting the obstacles being put in front of them. I am glad they pushed through.

Jimin is my bias, his vocals are so uniquely beautiful, the way he moves is incredible, no one comes close to Jimin, he has such an incredible big loving heart, he gives his all and pushes himself to always improve and excel. He is very self conscious and has at times believed he is not good enough which breaks my heart. Jimin donates a large amount to many charities, especially to his old school, though he himself never tells. He is a remarkable man and I think it's impossible not to love him.

Thankyou for doing these videos. I've been a fan of them since 2015 (even though I've always listened to more 90s grunge, new wave, rock and metal) I love seeing people from different musical backgrounds listen to them too. I recommend this video (An introduction to the 7 members of BTS 2021 update) as a really good summary of all the members!

I remember when they got daesangs in 2016 album of the year and artist of the year V said in a grp live "that's it we achieved our dreams idk what I want in the future" but after that he took a video in the car (not sure if it was a live) and he said "ok I found it I know what I want the future I just want to be with Army as much as possible" so from this and from other things they said it and explained to us that they had a plan but it got broken when they achieved more than what they had expected or wanted Suga was like "I suddenly became afraid" since the ama performance felt like their debut stage, because I also think that pehapes the company put them in a situation where they had to choose to either keep going but they should get higher and work harder or stop and leave the group not wanting to continue (since the company's plan must have been connected to their lives plan) but thank God they choose to stay together and continue not because they were forced to but they also choosed it with love
