Japan has a thing about showing your face on the internet. Depends on what your day job is, many Japanese companies have policies about how you conduct yourself in public, and in their view, you represent your job out side of work too. So that's why you see many Japanese youtubers doing the vtuber thing, or covering their face in videos. If your job doesn't like what you do in your private life, they can fire you. Now that she's with Lovebites, that's now her main job.

Vocaloid music is pretty interesting. Alien Alien is vocaloid. If you're interested start with 'The Vampire' by Deco27. It's a synthetic voice. Hatsune Miku is her name but she's not a real person. Even though vocaloid is entirely synthetic there is an entire industry of real musicians around it. First of all obviously it takes real skill to make the music. But there are singers who sing vocaloid music. Both in Japanese and other languages. And full band covers in different styles. I saw an Indonesian cover of MKDR by Deco27 with 20 million views on KZfaq. Ado started as a utaite..hopefully I spelled that right. But it's a person who sings vocaloid. Ado is a worldwide superstar now. She basically still sings vocaloid. The big Vocaloid producers write music for her now.

Lovebites are a very professional band who know full well what they've got with Fami. Although it probably won't happen straight away (because I suspect they've already written most of the songs for their next album), at some point in the future I'm certain Lovebites will write songs that showcase Fami's technical ability.

In Japan it seems it is a problem to find a job if you are a musician, so unless they have established themselves all artists usually cover their face, specially fami, that must have been 18 or 17 when she recorded this video. But she got a professional job now, so... It seems we got a pretty good bassist for Lovebites. When auditions were initiated the search was for the new "5th Element" which leads me to think she is an equal member with the others. Although Miho was founder & leader which Fami will not be, Miho also wrote nearly 1/3 of all LOVEBITES songs, words & music, and I expect Fami's bass-style & other skills will be respected and infused into LOVEBITES existing catalog, and it will be interesting to see what kind of songwriting collaborations might emerge. Fami with Mao? Fami music with Asami lyrics? Miyako music with Fami lyrics? Fami collab with Midori on both music & lyrics? The possibilities are extensive. I also consider how some musicians have opted to 'fit' within an existing band's 'sound' as a 'career' move, while curbing a portion of their own skills to enhance the already honored & respected & successful style of a band. DragonForce's most recent bassist, Alicia Vigil, where, to my knowledge, her successful solo band's songs will not join the DF setlists. Another old one would be Dave Grohl drumming for Nirvana while aspiring to singer-songwriter frontman, now 'realized' in Foo Fighters. Fami being a decade younger than the others also 'shapes' my expectations in this respect. Alot of 'mystery' left to be revealed, but even her FACE was a 'reveal' with the "Bravehearted" debut. Personally, LOVEBITES existing catalog, all with Miho on bass, is extensive and I am quite a ways from fully grasping all the nuance in those songs, so I'm really 'curious' about the future, but not that 'anxious' since they were quite prolific in their early years, despite the worldwide disruption of touring and even 'getting together' being inhibited. I really value their perseverance to have managed to write, record & release "Glory, Glory To The World" and perform, record & release "Heavy Metal Never Dies" in 2021. They LIVE the message they convey in their lyrics. 🐺

The original track is from a computer cartoon anime...a lot of people see the crazy antics and fun but the one thing that should blow your mind is the precision with her playing. That's a lot of talent and technique...she covers her face because of inappropriate comments that where posted when she first started doing videos. She was still in HS and was getting all these sexual comments from thirsty a-holes. I guessing she did the mask more for personal safety.
