That end part that fades out is “Imperium” so that, at the end of the album, you’re back at the beginning. The cycle continues. Such a great track. Such a great album closer for such a great album. It’s been fun watching you discover Ghost’s discography! 🤘

Kaiserion gets a whole lot of life live. It is what they played last year right when the curtain drops to start the show. It is my least favorite song on Impera (which by no means makes it a bad song) but, like Mummy Dust, the energy it has live is insane. When we saw them, the guy sitting next to us had seen them 4 or 5 times before and he wished they were playing Respite live. I now agree.

THIS IS THE SONG I’VE BEEN SO EXCITED FOR YOU TO GET TO. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. This song is dark, it’s heavy, it’s groovy.. the riffs are some of the best I’ve ever heard. I love it. This song represents everything I’ve ever loved to hear in music.

Really feel like whoever said there were two solos fucked this experience up for you. This song is so great. The solo is fine but it’s so much more than that. The ending closes the album the way it started the album. And after such an amazing journey when you hear that it actually feels almost emotional. I could tell in your face, you were let down. The anticipation of some incredible solo messed it up for ya.
@ronaldorodriguez104

The ending wasn't so much a guitar solo as it was just the Imperium riff to close out the album. You may remember that the "concept" of this album was the rise and fall of empires. It was made to loop back around. With Imperium it signifies the start of an empire and with Respite it signifies the end of it, and with the looping you can think of it as history repeating itself. One rises but it'll eventually fall and there will be a new one to take its place and so the cycle continues. This is the top Ghost album for me. Amazing songs and incredibly thought out. I also agree with you that the interludes should just have been part of the song. Don't really know why they were made separate, especially Bite Of Passage

Tobias actually is very interested in the Jack The Ripper case. He talked about it in a pod you can find here on KZfaq and he knows the case in and out. Even has a theory of who he really was. Spitalfields is for you who doesn't know the area in London where he committed his crimes and when he stopped the locals said it was respite on the Spitalfields. The part when Imperium comes back in the end indicating that the empire has fallen and a new one is about to rise is so geniously thought out that it's just blew my mind first time i heard it. Tobias is not only a musical genious but also so incredibly smart that you at the end are lost for words. All i can say is that Impera in my mind is the best rock album ever released. Period. The Europe reference is "where leaving the city so this is farewell". The riff is Whitesnake "Still of the Night".

This may be my fave Ghost video of yours 🤩 …your mention of Interview With The Vampire being one of your favourite movies really hit me in the feels since I recently fell in love with the story all over again after reading the book it was based on 🥰🥰 It’s actually one of my comfort movies by now which is odd since I first watched it when I was super duper young 😆 So close now to finishing watching all (and oh yes I mean all) of your Ghost reaction videos and I just love how you also share the specific insights you’ve gained from your experience with rock music and your progressive metal band, The Cardinal Endeavor. (I checked it out a few times and I’m sad it has so little views on KZfaq and Spotify as you can really tell the effort you guys put into the song writing!! The song Ghost/Reset may be my current fave funnily enough! 😆) A bit more personally, yesterday it was my birthday 🎂 and since I’m still quite young, each new age I gain holds a lot of weight to me so I was kinda dreading this most recent one, but after a really fun weekend of break from my studies with my friends and family, and now this awesome video of probably my favourite song on Impera, I thought I’d just comment for my first time on this channel to show my appreciation and to help the algorithm recommend this channel to more people. Thank you for this 😊

Songs you NEED to hear and react to: If You Have Ghosts Crucified I’m A Marionette Waiting For The Night These are all cover songs, but all are bangers. If You Have Ghosts is a Rocky Erickson cover, and to me it’s one of Ghosts greatest tracks ever. It is pure greatness, and the guitar solo sounds SO good! My Top 10 songs from Ghost! 1) Ghuleh/Zombie Queen 2) If You Have Ghosts 3) Con Clavi Con Dio 4) Cirice 5) Year Zero 6) He Is 7) Ritual 8) Genesis 9) Elizabeth 10) Miasma

Ghost brings classic rock into the modern day, and that's their niche. I don't think they started that way, but have evolved into that sound especially in the last two albums. Honestly, one of the biggest things that hooked me on Ghost is the lyrics and the meanings of the songs and even albums as a whole. It isn't just the sound, it's the message - though the sound itself is pretty damn phenomenal most of the time. I would recommend checking out the lyrics of the songs when you get a chance; not as a reaction, but just for yourself. Some of the songs are far deeper when you understand the message - and some are just as simple as they seem. Either way, I cannot recommend enough that you go to at least one Ritual. The theatricality is fantastic and most if not all of the songs sound even better live. I do hope you'll react to their covers, though. I think you'll be pleased with most of them.

Well damn, you made it all the way to the end. It’s been a hell of a journey! I really can’t tell you how fun it’s been to watch each and every one of your reactions to this band’s music, it’s really made my day and helped me enjoy the tracks in ways I hadn’t even thought of before. Respite on the Spitalfields didn’t really click for me at first- I thought the lyrics were a bit clunky and as someone that listens closely to them I found it a bit off-putting. However, as time’s gone on, it’s grown on me quite a bit, especially with the instrumentals being as downright gorgeous as they are. I think I still prefer Monstrance Clock or Life Eternal for my favorite album closers, but I can definitely see why this one would be considered the best, especially with its connection to the album as a whole. Honestly, Impera is just such a damn near perfect album thematically and has given us so many iconic bangers of songs, it really has deserved every single bit of praise and acclaim it’s gotten. They really did outdid themselves with this one and I’m so glad it’s gotten so many people into Ghost, myself included! If you’re thinking of going into the covers next, the Sympathy for the Devil really is a good one. The rest of the comments have already suggested basically all of the If You Have Ghosts ep (which is deserved, those covers slap and I find myself often singing I’m a Marionette because of it) but for my own bit I might also recommend you look into their cover of Avalanche by Leonard Cohen, it’s only available on KZfaq as far as I know but I’ve been listening to it almost daily cause it’s got such a unique sound delivered so masterfully. Their version of Nocturnal Me is also very good if you have the time! Once again, it’s been a pleasure watching you go through their discography, I hope you find yourself having just as much fun listening to the covers and stuff from the other bands as you have here!

Such an awesome album closer indeed! Given the theme of the album is Empires and how cyclical they are, the fact this song ends with the start of Imperium is a perfect example of that. Also! Definitely check out the Sympathy for the Devil cover, though only Papa IV (Tobias) is featured there (the instrumentals are played by The Hellacopters). I would also recommend If You Have Ghosts, It's a Sin, Here Comes the Sun, and Enter Sandman! Really enjoy how they take each song and give them a Ghost rework and it'd be fun to see your thoughts and reactions to them! Awesome reaction as always !! Keep giving us honest and thoughtful reactions, it's nice seeing people giving their real opinions and not just catering to the fans :)

To bad people led you to believe there was a second guitar solo at the end of Spitalfields. It’s obviously not a solo, but a repeat of the melodic guitar line from the opening track/intro “Imperium” (which means “Empire” in Swedish). I was hoping you would appreciate the way the album ends with the same melody as it opens with, but I guess your expectations got diluted by people calling it a second solo. Either way, I think it’s the perfect way to end this album. Both Genesis and Deus In Absentia are equally great closers though, I think. Genesis is also their greatest show opener as well. They opened with Genesis during 2015, then launching straight into From The Pinnacle To The Pit! Man, were those great concerts. I saw Ghost live three times in 2015.

One thing that I find extremely interesting is the usage of that riff from the intro track and the way it is perceived in each context. In the opening it presents itself as a triumphant clarion call to the rest of the album, and is perceived as Major key as such. At the end the exact same riff reappears but this time, with the added context of this being the final moments of the album, it is perceived as a much more somber Minor key. This also aligns perfectly with the theme of the album itself, with the death of every great empire paving the way for a new one to take its place. The end of one may be indistinguishable from the beginning of another. Two identical riffs, two very different ways to interpret it.

Haha, when you mentioned someone said there were two solos in this one I was like, "Huh? Are there??" Glad that the lack of a solo didn't let you down there. I know I've commented quite a bit on your vids, and I always tried my best to refrain from 'spoilery' things. I think when you were coming up on Twenties I had to re-write my reply about 5 or 6 different times because I was like, "I don't want to give it away" and then it was "well, I also don't want to hype him up on it too much either, what if he doesn't like it???" I probably still left a comment that teetered on some spoilers though, haha It's always a tricky line, lol A bitter sweet ending in this one though. I suppose the good news is that Ghost isn't done yet, and music from should be on its way (maybe we get a surprise single in the next two months that makes us all collectively go, "Well now why wasn't THAT on the album!") I do look forward to seeing the MCC stuff. My person favorite for MCC is a 'live studio' video they did that's about 20 minutes long and they go through like 4 or 5 tracks. I don't know if that's going to fly as a reaction vid, but maybe you could break it into parts? My minor spoiler for you on that one is they give me a very vague Pink Floyd vibe. It's not exactly Pink Floyd, but there's kind of an eerieness to their music that really reminds me of a lot of PF. I'm actually not too familiar with Repugnant (I think I heard a small clip of a song once?) so I'll definitely make sure to check out your vids on that too. For Ghost covers, the ones I'd really recommend: If You Have Ghosts Sympathy for the Devil Enter Sandman (there is a live performance similar to SftD where they do this in a tribute concert to Metallica, it has Forge on vocals, and I think Candlemass and others are involved; but there's also a studio version that's all Ghost, toss a coin on which one you'd rather see, both are quite similar though if I remember right.)

For MCC…if you want to hear stuff that Tobias was a part of, stick with the first album, “Goodmorning Restrained” or the “Valiant Visions Dawn” EP. Martin resurrected MCC after he left Ghost, so Tobias hasn’t been involved since Ghost took off. All that being said, the newest MCC album is amazing. “Arrows,” “Silence” and “Savantgarde” are all solid tunes.

The rif isn't from The Final COuntDown, but a lyric is. "We're leaving this city, so this is farewell" seems to be a reference to TFC's "We're leaving together, so this is farewell"

Just letting you know that Lovebites dropped a second track from the album “Judgement Day”, in fact the track that immediately follows the track Judgement Day. It’s called “The Spirit Lives On”. Nobody is reacting to it because it doesn’t have an MV, but I know you’re ok with reacting to songs alone if it’s all that’s available. Second song featuring Fami.

Have you listened to the live version of Elizabeth from Ceremony & Devotion? It's only on the CD I think but surely someone has put it up somewhere on KZfaq. I'm curious if you'd like it any better than the original. I already like Elizabeth to begin with but I really prefer the live version.

My MCC recommendation for you is That It Is Already Too Late To Leave but specifically from the live recording video they put out called Digital Greetings From Nielson Sound Part 1. It's the first song out of 6 in that video and I really do think that watching that specifically is the best way to introduce MCC to you because it's almost like an experience. I know you can't watch all the songs in one go so do pause it after that first song but I truly think it's a must watch. Can't wait to see those reactions. Peace and love man 🤘 Edit: here is the link to that video m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aa91jcp-39W9lmg.html

100% with you on Elizabeth. No idea why that's so popular as a fan favorite -- I think it's the sloppiest constructed song in the whole discography

@@rockdariff check out Fathom. It's the opening track on their album Geneva. Don't let the name fool you, they're American. Russian Circles are a hockey thing. I'd also recommend Cynics Traced In Air album for some real good melodic song writing.

To be honest, I don't think MCC would make sense as one of the next steps into the "Ghost related stuff". There's almost nothing from Tobias there, he only played bass for a really really short period, he wasn't even an official member. If I remember correctly none of the MCC recorded stuff has Tobias at all, singing, writing or playing. MCC is Martin Persner's child. It definitely worth checking out, but later on. Now SUBVISION makes total sense, since it was Tobias band, writing, playing and singing. It's mora of a "brit rock" sound but we can already hear a little bit of what was gonna become Ghost later. Their only album, "So far So Noir", is nothing but excellent. Subvision would be a nice palate cleanser, hearing Tobias real singing voice (out of any character) before jumping into the malevolence of Repugnant.Good tracks to react to: • Scenario • Room 611 • Fault • Psycamore • Beyond The Moon
