the lyrics reflect that stray kids has a song that will satisfy ANYONE (yes, even antis, but antis will try to convince you otherwise), they have countless genres within their extensive self produced discography ranging from powerful songs like gods menu to beautiful ballads such as their song cover me. the music video is to reflect 3 main things; the kitchen: since stray kids is one of the very few self produced k-pop groups (i'm talking production, writing, composing, and occasionally choreography), they're always "cooking something up," the kitchen is meant to reflect the chaos behind the scenes that goes into the craft the race track: i don't know if you know, but k-pop has an extremely difficult and stressful competitive culture amongst (primarily) fans. most k-pop stan's don't like skz, mostly because of their unusual sound that doesn't reflect what k-pop was at their time of debut in 2018. the race track is meant to show their drive to excel and come out on top despite all odds the construction set: skz music has been labeled as "noisy construction music," this is essentially taunting their haters because they embrace the label rather than reject it it may seem like chaos but that's what they're known for, they have such a diverse discography that it's extremely difficult to find a song you wouldn't like and the members themselves are so incredibly sweet and it's so hard not to love them

Hey just wanted to say that you need to be more open to new groups and new sounds pls do not compare them to bts both of these groups are unique in their own way theres no need to compare at all, yes bts made kpop more popular in the US but stray kids have work so hard to be where they are right now give them some credit too. bts made kpop known worldwide but kpop already existed way back before they even were a group

Stray kids is a self produced group. They write and produce 99% of their music, which is unheard of in Kpop. This song actually has a much deeper meaning, it’s about their ambition, confidence and desire to stand out in the music industry, while using a cooking metaphor to represent the fact that they write their own music and have a desire to stay true to themselves. Of course there’s a performance element to the song- because that’s the Kpop culture. But if you try to see beyond the stereotypes about Kpop and look beneath the surface, there’s a lot of story telling and meaning to be found. And this is why fans love them and connect with their music ❤.

Stray Kids are a diverse and unique group. Their songs have meaning and wordplay. Their videos show all aspects of meaning. God's Menu talks about their discography and how they have music for everyone as their unique sound took some time to be established. They are not a normal kpop group and they continue to make music that they want. When you say that they have potential - they move to their own sound. They write, produce, and arrange 99% of their music. They have their hype songs and their slower songs and they all have aome meaning. Their songs have grown up with them. The one with the chain on his face is the leader, Bang Chan, who leads the production as well as the group. The deep voice is Felix. All of them are worth paying attention to. As i said all their songs have meaning so here are some of my faves: 1. Levanter 2. Chronosaurus 3. I am YOU 4. Secret Secret 5. Leave live performance (there's no mv) 6. Social Path 7. Loney St. 8. Scars (This mv is in japanese so no subtitles but they have a live version on "The First Take") 9. Mixtape: OH 10. Voices I subscribed to see your next reaction on them, positive or negative.

They debuted in 2018 They are ages 23 - 26 Fandom name is Stay #2 Best Selling Artist in U.S 2023 #3 Globally Best Selling 2023 They are unique for several reasons... First, the leader Bang Chan was allowed by JYP to hand pick all of the members himself. They were not placed together in a traditional way, by the company. Second all of them are all arounders. They can all sing, rap, dance, produce and write. Third, they have written and produced about 99% of their music. Numbers of songs each member has copyrighted according to Korean Music Association (KOMCA) so far... Bang Chan 182 (#3 in KPop) Changbin 154 (#11) Han 148 (#12) Hyunjin 27 Felix 22 I.N 21 Seungmin 20 Lee Know 17 While they can all do everything they do have 3 different subunits... 3Racha... Bang Chan, Chang Bin and Han which are the main producers. They are always credited as 3Racha. 3Racha Achievements - Four Time Billboard 200 #1 Producers - Hot 100 Hitmakers - 3rd, 11th, 12th Most Credited Idols on KOMCA - Produced Albums Sold Over 20 Million Copies - Japan Hot 100 Hitmakers - 100+ Weeks on Hot 100 Lyricists - 100+ Weeks On Hot 100 Composers - 2023 Asia Artist Awards Best Creator - Makers of Time Magazines 2020 #8 Best Song (their song Backdoor) Danceracha... Lee Know (in charge of leading dance practices), Felix and Hyunjin. They also contribute to the choreography. Vocalracha... Seungmin and I.N While the songs are hype they always have significant meaning to them. Their lyricism is always insane. Since they are so experimental their sound has its own genre and they have a very diverse discography. Example... Gods Menu, Back Door and Case 143 all completely different sounds. So the thing with Stray Kids is the majority of their music sends a good message but a lot of times you really have to read the lyrics to understand what theyre saying. They are artists through and through and as such they can often times deliver the message of the song in a not so obvious way. When it comes to Skz most reactors will watch once without lyrics then again with or watch a lyric video the second time around. We know the group can be overwhelming sometimes to people not familiar with them. Some I can recommend... Hellevator (predebut) District 9 (debut) Grow Up Levanter I Am YOU MIA 19 Chronosaurus Cover Me Lonely St Maniac Scars Secret Secret Silent Cry Haven You Can Stay #LoveSTAY Youtiful Red Lights Double Knot FNF Voices Mirror Maze of Memories My Pace There are more, they have 200+ songs in their discography, but that should start you. Those are some of the obvious ones and easier to figure out. Skz is well known for their wordplay.

Overall their your own title tracks rely much on wordplay and their concept is "be yourself, find your own path" so most of their titles aim for that topic and are very anthemy... Quite a few are clap-backs coz they got a lot of hate for their edmy rather heavy sound and they just... went with it. B sides is where the magic happens. Except Miroh. Miroh will always be iconic.

Though not obviously deep in their title tracks, stray kids goes very deep with a lot of their songs and concepts. They often talk about being yourself, showing yourself, growing up, mental health. God's menu is a great wordplay and response to people saying their music is loud and noisy. They are using cooking metaphors to express that they have a variety of sounds and that anyone will find something they like in their diverse discography. They produce 99% of their songs themselves and are very inspirational people. Their sounds can also be very experimental. A lot of people who like bts also like stray kids and vice versa. I'm a rock/metalhead that fell in love with BTS for all the reasons anyone does and then I fell in love with stray kids. I now cannot choose between BTS or Stray kids, they both mean so much to me. My fav deeper songs: - hellevator - levanter - cover me - lonely st - scars (first take) - my fav song of skz. - slump (first take) - secret secret - streetlight - changbin - alien - han - volcano - han - HapPy - han - honestly any han jisung song - blind spot - leave - social path - red lights (yes it's deeper than it looks) - love untold - hyunjin - Placebo Well, there's more but these are some of my favs.

Yes, more Stray Kids please. All of Stray Kids’ songs are meaningful. Since they produce them themselves and they write their own lyrics, they always have a deeper meaning that what you notice on the first listening (Stray Kids also use a lot of entendres). But, I can understand that, not knowing them, you might not recognize the meaning of the song. Stray Kids has been “fighting” since debut to get their style of music across, God’s Menu is the representation of what they had accomplished up to that point of their career. The race cars represent the constant “race” in the Kpop industry to win, the lab represent their work in experimenting and trying innovative ways to create music, the construction site is them working and building their future, and the kitchen is where they “cook” up their recipes that will meet anyone’s taste (because their music is so varied that anyone can find something they like). The lyrics and also the images in the video are what you want to pay attention to. I recommend Maniac, Social path and Secret Secret (three very different songs, with more overt meanings).

Stray Kids aren’t like BTS and really shouldn’t be compared to them. For many of us, Stray Kids are a unique and multitalented group of guys with their own genre of music, with a massive discography of music which is so varied. You really do not know what to expect from one song to the next. Their music and videos always have a strong message and meaning behind them, but I suppose you have to know and understand the guys first. Anyway, thank you for reacting to the boys and I hope you take the opportunity to listen to more of their music, I’m sure you will be surprised. ❤️‍🔥🔥

They have a multitude of songs that have deep meaning. Most of their songs do, sometimes you have to dog a bit deeper to get it. I consider them kpop only because they do the kpop promotion things and they are from Korea but in terms of music they are unlike anything else out there and they do that themselves which is AMAZING. My suggestions for really deep songs of theirs some are solo songs and should be watched as a lyric video as there may not be an MV or no lyrics ahown I will mark those as well as give a hint as to the meaning. Also this is just a tiny sampling. Maniac about the faces people put on to look normal in society and that we should be ourselves instead. Secret secret about depression. Silent cry (there is no mv for this one) which is the groups reaction to Han's song Secret Secret which is about seeing someone you love struggle with depression. Social Path about giving up things for your dreams and how it feels like you are fighting to claw up but you know it will be worth it. Now for a few solos: I hate to admit by Bang Chan oof just pain and loss. Streetlight by Changbin seriously one of the deepest concepts I have seen. The song is about being a streetlight and casting light for those around you while you stand alone without comfort yourself. Alien by Han. About feeling like an outcast or an alien. Most of Han's solos are pretty deep to be honest. His tracks are often seen as comfort tracks. That's just a small taste of the deeper side and that honestly barely scratches the surface. And is my own interpretation of the lyrics. They have been hated on A LOT by other kpop fans and have embraced the title noise music. So they also have songs classified as diss tracks which just embrace the things said about their music (Thunderous) and about them personally (Cheese). They are very talented at wordplay so sometimes you have to dig a bit to really get the meaning of the lyrics so I have made a point of giving the most straight forward examples.

GODS MENU They are singing about themselves, THEY are GODS MENU. They have something for everyone, even the haters. You may wander off but eventually you return to them. The kitchen is where they cook up songs. The laboratory is where they experiment with sounds. They have some VERY EXPERIMENTAL TRACKS that we all love. The construction site is where they build the tracks and the car racing shows the competition within K-POP and how the boys are starting to overtake and leave others behind. Although this is an iconic song, I honestly wouldn't recommend it to a first-time listener, it's more for those of us who know them well. They have over 200 songs that touch nearly every genre there is. If you want a more softer ballad song I would recommend the following..... SCARS Japanese track (skz) SECRET SECRET mental health (skz) SILENT CRY we consider this a response song to Secret Secret, mental health. STREETLIGHT solo CHANGBIN also about mental health. GONE AWAY Han, Seungmin and I.N. NEVERENDING STORY OST (SKZ) WAITING FOR US Bang Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin and I.N. There are so many more. YOUTIFUL LOVE STAY Both written for the fans. NEVER give up on our boys. Like they say in GODS MENU, there is something for everyone. Just like BTS are leaders of 3rd Gen, STRAY KIDS are leaders of 4th Gen.

comparison of God's menu to Dynamite is the most unexpected thing which I have seen in a very long time. thank you, I laughed a lot XD since SKZ write and compose 99% of their songs and lyrics, the lyrics represents their thoughts and their paths and every SKZ song represents the group. SKZ are known among non-fans for making EDM and rap-heavy music, "god's menu" being a great representative of which, but in their b-sides they like experimenting with different music genres. for something more emotional lyrics-wise I recommend "voices", "silent cry", "slump". I have seen many metalheads falling in love with SKZ due to their tendency to a "heavier" sound compared to most of kpop. I must say, in general every successful group has its own style and its own sound. why would anyone need a second BTS if there is the first BTS? and the same applies to any kpop group with a unique concept. Someone might prefer BTS over other groups, and others would prefer tens of other kpop groups over BTS. and it is fine, that's why kpop is so diverse and everyone can choose songs and groups according to their own taste. and I have a little advice: please be careful with the words you choose when comparing kpop groups. due to parasocial relationships between kpop groups and their fans, fans can become very defensive, and if there is a current tension or a history of bad relationships between fandoms, you might unintentionally spark a fan war in your comment section.

Hope you will continue to check them out! I have become disillusioned with the American pop scene (songs with 8 lines and a repetitive chorus), and wasn't sure that kpop would be any different. It IS hard to process the lyrics on their "no-stops" m/v's, at times... But I have found it is always worth it. They have simple lyrics that are honest and very relatable, and they have really smart lyrics in which they do wordplay in multiple languages and use many cultural references that add even mire to the song. I encourage you to not sleep on their writing!

I don't think you gave them enough credit. I feel like this song has a lot to say. This is the only song of theirs that I really love but something about this one does touch my heart. I believe they are talking about how they create their music through hard work without any magic ingredient (which I believe means easy shortcuts). If you know these kids story you know they worked really hard to even exist. The voice you loved so much actually got cut from the group during formation and had to fight to prove himself and get his place back. Their music in general isn't my taste but I think the kids deserve a lot of credit and this is the song of theirs that I will happily listen to over and over.

Stray Kids different from BTS. Shouldn't be compared to BTS. You need to be more open mind. Both groups are unique, but different. New groups and music try not to compare them to one another. Stray Kids messages we all grow and go through hardships as it goes on, we move past it and go on. You're doing well when things are hard. We are all astray. All lost and trying to find which direction to go, who we are, who we wanna be, this makes us. This is the meaning of their main motto. Please react to more Stray Kids. Stray Kids have plenty of music videos, you should find plenty you will enjoy and understand the true message of their songs delivery.

One song that I think is deeper and a little more unique to Stray Kids is FNF. The name stands for Flora and Fauna and it was written by Bang Chan (the leader and the one with the chain on his face in this MV) and Felix (the guy with the deep voice). They are both from Australia and wrote this song as a kind of tribute to the flowers and animals that were lost in the big bushfires in Australia a few years ago. Title tracks I'd recommend: (These lists are not exhaustive) Social Path (featuring LiSA); Hellevator (Their pre-debut song); District 9 (Their debut song); Levanter; My Pace; Side Effects (its very experimental so some people don't like it but i love it); Maniac B-sides that have MV's of some kind: Lonely St; Scars (like someone else mentioned I'd suggest watching the live version from The First Take though); Secret, Secret; Mirror; Insomnia (all of the "Street ver" MV's are just them having fun with a camera so it doesn't have anything to do with the song, they're still really fun to watch though imo); Voices; Grow Up; Blueprint; TMT; You can STAY; Youtiful B-sides that don't have a MV: Silent Cry (it's a response to Secret, Secret); Cover Me; Blind Spot; Phobia; Battle Ground; Lost Me (No MV, but they did perform it on The First Take as well); DLMLU (stands for Don't Let Me Love You)

Cover Me, Grow Up, Levanter, Secret Secret and so many more are in the category that your looking for. They have around 200 songs and cover everything. Also there is no comparing groups. Comparing BTS and Stray Kids is like comparing apples and oranges. The same can be said for all groups. Songs don't have to have some deep meaning to be enjoyed.

This song is about their style being their own and that as the audience you can find anything in their discography for any taste (you just need to try more of their songs…pretty much speaking to your journey right now, trying them out). If you want to listen to a song with deeper meaning, but not sure if you mean ballad (since you say you are a metal head so often I don’t think ballad), you can listen to the song they wrote for fans called Youtiful from their top selling 5 Star album. It is a ballad. Or maybe Maniac if not a ballad from their album Oddinary.

I’m confused that you call yourself a metalhead. Stray Kids have the hardest sound in Kpop that most metalheads discovering Kpop are drawn to. If you prefer the pop sound they have some of those too but not many. 2 of the 3 producers (3Racha) are rappers so most songs are rap heavy. Even though they can all rap and sing and dance the rap line consists of 4 rappers with 4 different styles. You judged that this song was more for performance than having depth. There is not one song of theirs that doesn’t have meaning but at the same time fans go wild seeing them perform their songs live. Their dance to God’s Menu is as strong as the song itself. If you like going to concerts I would suggest you react to both the mv like you did and follow with the dance practice which are amazing. As most new listeners to Stray Kids you were drawn to Felix because of his deep voice. Because you want to hear something deeper than God’s Menu, please listen to Felix’ s solo song Deep End. It his only him you hear, there are no mv. You may as a metalhead like Thunderous, please react to both the mv and the dance practice. It is about people criticizing their thunderous sound. If you dig deeper you will notice that their Japanese songs are more rock like The Sound or Social Path.

That jump zoom to Felix's face 😂 Social Path ft. LiSA. There's an official music video. You'll love it. It's Chan's story to make it to the top... Also, depending on your taste, you might want to catch the lyric video to TASTE, sung by just 3 members affectionately known as Danceracha. The longer you stay in Stayville, the more you'll understand. God's Menu's message is the truth--they have something everyone will like...but the longer I've stayed, the more i love songs i didn't initially like. These kids write and produce their own music, and they're one of the very few groups where the leader (Chan) was allowed to choose his members.

Stray Kids, or SKZ, are recognized as their own genre, Mala Taste, named after a popular spicy Chinese soup, Malatang. To compare them to other groups, specially from previous traditional K-Pop generations, is impossible. Their sound didn't exist. Many of their songs will refer to being the first and the best, to remind people about that. They have earned the right, because they were brutally criticized at the beginning by the gatekeeper types who historically oppose new things when it comes to music. Because they write their own music, they have many deep and meaningful lyrics too. They don't shy away from trying any genre of music they are inspired by and are extremely creative about incorporating their own unique sound to everything they compose. They also, uncommon in K-Pop, tackle subjects like depression, loneliness and the hardships of being idols without any sugarcoating. They are also well known for addressing hate comments wittily. For example, their first big hit was God's Menu, which immediately was labelled as noise music by the ignoramus. So, they named their next album NoEasy (Noisy) with songs like Thunderous and Cheese as responses. 😂 Also, as time goes by, the other members have also become more involved in the creative process, adding their own style to the SKZ discography. I have listened to K-Pop for a long time with no group ever really standing above the others. I liked one song by this one group, and another song by a different group and that was the extent of it. But Stray Kids are one of a kind to me. It wasn't until I came across them that I actually became a stan.

You’ve started off as the typical closed minded army that believes that bts hangs the moon and invented the wheel, and every other band is beneath them. So i don’t have high hopes in terms of your future reactions, but who knows

I don't think you understood the lyrics at all. It's actually complex using food as a metaphor along with the different scenes in the video to convey the meaning. Maybe not emotionally deep in this particular song but the lyrics have a lot of meaning which can been seen when fully dissecting the lyrics. And yes this song is amazing when performed live. Also you shouldn't compare groups, also you compared songs of totally different genres so I'm not sure how reliable that would be. Stray kids have a huge discography with a vast range including various deep emotionally moving songs and I don't think Stray kids would make any song for no reason.

I really don’t see the need to always compare groups to BTS . Yes BTS are good I’ve liked them since the start but there are many more fantastic kpop groups out there . Some that have been around a lot longer and some newer ones . They all deserve to be seen and heard for who they are not constantly compared . They deserve better

Skz are the pioneers of the mala taste genre and one of the top musical artists in the world with 4 #1 consecutive albums. Theyre the 3rd most listened to kpop group after bts and blackpink. But that doesnt put them under them. They have also broken records bts and blackpink werent able to and are considered the most unique group. Bts are amazing and so are skz. Theyre both pioneers in the musical industry and making their own footprints. No need to make subtle jabs and backhanded copliments and trying to compare them to bts when they are completely different in almost every aspect.

okay, first of all, why do you compare completely different artists? bts and skz make completely different styles of kpop. and on top of that, comparing GODS MENU to dynamite is fucking crazy. bts didn't even write dynamite and the lyrics are surface level (i say that as a stay and army), it was 100% written to appease the western audience and to gain the western appeal. gods menu has better lyrics, production, arrangement, and composition. and that is because 3racha (the production team that is literally 3 of the 8 members of skz) wrote the entire thing and produced the entire thing. comparing kpop groups is incredibly fucking stupid and dumb. that's like comparing hip hop to ballads. they aren't even in the same ball field. tell me you don't know anything about music without telling me you don't know anything about music.
