Nella sua voce,disperazione,speranza,tristezza infinite,è stato uno dei piu grandi con De Andrè,Dalla,Battisti,Bennato,Paolo Conte e pochi altri,artisti che hanno lasciato il segno e non verranno mai dimenticati,questo pezzo in particolare ti entra nel cuore e sembra volerlo stritolare con la sua tristezza... ancora una volta,pochi strumenti,pochi accordi,una voce pazzesca e una melodia indimenticabile,la ricetta del successo.

I have always been in love with Tenco"s songs, so different from the typical melodic Italian songs and so important for the development of Italian authorial songwriting. It may not sound so nowadays but his songs, his way to deliver, so deprived of any of the "frills" typical of those times, and the lyrics nearly crude in their raw realism, in the 60s were new and many in the music industry weren't able to understand his value, one of the many reasons that ultimately drove him to commit suicide during the Sanremo festival in 1967... I was 4yo at the time yet the rumors of his actions were so impactful I never forgot the news on tv and growing up read everything I could about it. His songs are so timeless they could have been written 5 years ago instead of 55....

Il me semble que dans les années 1950 1960 les chansons de " de variété " bénéficiaient d une meilleure orchestration que de nos jours notamment pour les chansons romantiques, les chansons d amour ( violons etc...) qui mettaient d avantage en valeur la mélodie, la chaleur de la voix, la sensibilité du texte....

Я очень увлечена творчеством великого Луиджи, но не знаю итальянский язык, к сожалению. Пересмотрела все в интернете, связанное с его жизнью и творчеством, но все на итальянском языке...Кое-что удалось перевести или догадаться по смыслу. Очень интересен творческий путь этого талантливого человека.

@@Olga-um5quAccording to my Italian friends including someone who knew Valeria, Dalida was a neurotic woman who couldn't take no for an answer. Luigi told his mother before going to San Remo that he did not like working with Dalida and that divas like her were not real women, and were not natural or kind.

Luigi e la sua grande anima jazz hanno portato la canzone italiana ai massimi livelli. Purtroppo, dopo gli anni '60 all'estero l'hanno conosciuta per colpa dei suoi interpreti più squallidi e banali. Bravo, Angelo! 👍

In Italy, there is a special music prize called "Premio Tenco", in honour of Luigi Tenco. He was a poet able to make music and put his words in music. Do you know the story of his life? It's maybe one of the saddest ever, also bond to this wonderful song.

@@65alef certamente non si è mai saputo! Nei vari documentari che ho visto si ipotizzava che ci fosse qualcosa di mezzo con i servizi segreti, una teoria ovviamente. Comunque se cerchi qualche video o documentario in merito è una storia davvero davvero assurda, soprattutto perché la sua morte avvenne negli hotel di Sanremo mentre c’era ancora la gara aperta e lui aveva appena finito l’esibizione al palco dell’Ariston, per cui ci fu un caos mediatico assurdo perché il cantante non poté più esibirsi nelle serate successive perché appunto era morto, ma nonostante ciò non interruppero il festival e continuarono le serate successive!

@@Dps640 E ‘ stato sicuramente ucciso .probabilmente in spiaggia . Hanno trovato sabbia nel baule della sua auto ( con la quale è stato trasportato il corpo ) . Poi ci sono decine di indizi a sfavore della tesi del suicidio ...

Wow meraviglioso e indimenticabile Luigi Tenco. Un un poeta, profondamente tormentato per non essere capito. La sua morte, suicidio, mentre era in corso l'evento nazionale della musica italiana del Festival di Sanremo con la sua canzone "Ciao amore" è stato un shock per tutti.

Anni 80: i miei erano in crisi e mio padre la cantava a mia madre cambiando "appena" il senso..".vedrai vedrai,vedrai che cambierai". Peccato che lui aveva già all'epoca un'altra donna e una doppia vita nella città in cui lavorava.Erano Una coppia che non avrebbe dovuto avere figli... Sempre a litigare a lasciarsi e a riprendersi. Mai divorziato,Lui sempre con l'altra ma al capezzale di mia madre si è anche preso il suo ultimo sorriso....c est la vie, e che vita🤦

It's a beautiful song, Angelo, but I think you got the lyrics wrong. The genius of Tenco's performance is that he is actually singing it with a goner inflection, so that while he says "I'm not a goner" you can tell he is deluded, he will never change, he won't make it. It's a song of failure and despair.

Indeed you are analyzing A LOT of Italian songs, and I sympathize with the commentator who asked you if the idea of learning Italian ever crossed your mind. Tenco's songs must be listened in silence, not necessarily making comparison with the l'stener's personal experience.They're poetry. You have to listen to them, feel them, enjoy Luigi Tenco's incredible voice. This is why they probably asked not to talk over the song.

probably one of the most depressing songs ever - (beautifully so...) Interestingly, the happiest upbeat tune sang by Tenco was "Ciao Amore Ciao" at Sanremo 1967...and then after performing it, he shot himself in the backroom (go figure).

He did not shoot himself, too much evidence points to murder but it was decided by the police and the director of the San Remo festival to call it a suicide. Otherwise, thry would have had to call of the festival and there was too much money invested in it. He supposedly died in his hotel room but many think that he was murdered on the beach and brought back to his hotel room. It was easy because his room was in a separate annex from the main building and his roon was right across from the back door which led to a parking lot. Since he wasn't that well known st the time many in the business thought that it would all blow over quickly.

4:08 that's exactly the reason it's better not to stop the song and comment: the sentence was not over yet. so what are you commented? an unfinished statement? the sentence was of the kind "I'd rather this and this than that" but you stopped before it saied the rest. this way the strofe loose meaning and poignancy. it was not just about disappointing someone. He hates to see her accepting everithing from him without complaining. He would rather that she cried and balimed him for thisappointing her, because seing her accepting and forbearing everything is much worse

Great song and great singer with a sad story. During the Sanremo Festival on 27 January 1967, after learning that his song had been eliminated from the final competition, Luigi Tenco allegedly committed suicide. It actually looks like that it could have been a murder, it seems that someone in the past few weeks had tried to drop him down a steep road while he was driving and his alleged girlfriend (publicly he was dating the singer Dalida) said that right before he died he called her and said he wanted to report clandestine bettings saying the names of the people involved.

Tutto è possibile ma io ricordo bene che in un intervista a Dalida dei primi anni '80 la cantante dichiarò che provava risentimento nei confronti di Tenco per il fatto che riteneva da vigliacchi il fatto che si fosse suicidato. Salvo poi pure lei...

in realtà sembra che Tenco avesse un'altra fidanzata, una certa Valeria, ed è a lei che avrebbe telefonato poco prima di morire (pare ci siano delle lettere di Tenco a questa Valeria in cui dichiara che la storia con Dalida era solo un tentativo di dimenticarla dopo che lei lo aveva lasciato). Poi ci sarebbero anche diverse incongruenze, a partire dal fatto che Tenco era destrimano e il foro d'entrata era a sinistra e che il proiettile non corrisponderebbe alla pistola da lui posseduta, al fatto che nessuno ha sentito lo sparo, e molte altre . Poi, ovviamente, il condizionale è sempre d'obbligo anche perché ufficialmente è stato dichiarato un suicidio

Luigi tenco committed suicide during the San Remo festival, since that day there is an award dedicated to him that is given to the most emotionally impacting artist of the year. I'm sorry you don't understand Italian, Tenco is a decadent poet we will never forget.
