Do it man you wont be disappointed, I went back in January and tickets were very cheap $580 round trip on Delta. Hotels were also very affordable Richmond suidobashi was $60/night and ones in osaka and kyoto were even cheaper. Can absolutely do it on a budget if you play your cards right.

@@b00tybu77chks that was really the main reason me and my friends went. We were discussing it for years and when we saw the tickets we just booked it and made it happen. The Kyoto video was very good and made me some nostalgic feeling as I was living around the area when I was young. Thank you so much… Anyway the caption about the town on the way from Kyoto to Osaka, it said “Ibaraki Prefecture” but it was actually “Ibaragi City” that is a town in Osaka prefecture. Ibaraki Prefecture is actually located at the North East of Tokyo next of Chiba more than 300km away from Kyoto….

@@MetalJesusRocks Google said this cake was originally created by Japanese patissie (cake maker) Mr. Sakota who was the founder of famous Cake shop in Tokyo : Jiyu-ga-oka Mont-Blanc in 1933 from his inspiration given by the view of Mt. Blanc when he was learning cake making in France… The original one already have those chestnuts cream noodle like texture but the top was covered by frost sugar representing the snowy peak of the Mt. Blanc…. As you know we Japanese are ultra health conscious today and cakes made today are much less sugar used…. so this cake also lost frost sugar topping I guess and exposing the noodle like cream structure….

If all you were doing was going to the well-known tourist areas like Akihabara in Tokyo or Den Den Town in Osaka then you'll be fine, since the staff in the shops in those areas (Super Potato, Surugaya, etc.) are used to dealing with tons of foreign tourists. You can see in the video that when he went to the narrow Kyoto Surugaya, nearly every other customer was a foreign tourist as well. Be prepared to pay the tourist prices though. MJR paid nearly 9,000 yen for that copy of Saturn Dodonpachi when it's normally closer to 7,000 yen at non-tourist area stores.
