Die Holzsegmente werden aus der fertigen
Kanne entfernt.Die Teekanne wird anschliessend vom Silberschmid mit Ausguss, Fuss,Deckel, etc. versehen.Einen Griff aus Wallnussholz bekommt die Kanne auch noch.

It was very good thinking of using of wooden die, but i have a question that how do they control the defects produced while spinning as in the case sown in above video if a wooden die is not clamped properly then there are chances of wrinkles and tearing at walls?

What wood are they made from? Did you make these yourself.

ran dom Yes, they are usualy made by metal spinners them selfs. Ist a special kind of Beech. I dont know how ist called in english. In German we call it " Hagebuche or Weissbuche". Its harder then regular beech and more durable.

Joe Rüegg It's hornbeam. For US, I'd suggest maple. Hardwood, fine grain, and relatively cheap.

Thanks it's a great help. do you think you can do a video on how one is made their are no videos on how to do it on KZfaq? And I also wondered how you get it to stay inside while forming the metal does the chuck spread open holding the form in place

ran dom Metal Spinners also use Peartree ,Maple, even Boxtree. And of course Steel and Delrin for there chucks.

Thanks again.. how do you make the wooden form can you do a video of you making one even if it's a really small one the same principles will apply to other sizes
