I was about to comment about this. I had this video playing in the living room and had to explain to my wife and 2yo son how Hetfield’s fluid pick exchange while playing and singing “watch it die” is one bad ass move that no one on earth will be able to replicate. I’m embarrassed to say that I made them rewatch this scene at least 3x and I’ve probably watched it over 20x myself.

I dunno, I actually have to commend Metallica for putting out their live videos so much. They don't ever need to release a disc with video again if they just keep sharing these videos (which have enhanced HD benefits). I'd say just enjoy their YT videos! They're excellent as they are, freely available whenever you want to, there's no big real reason to package them up and sell them when they're already available here to watch for free! I still gotta agree with you on the fact this recording is killer though!

Yellow looks way better than his old purple or orange sparkle.

So powerful. What a show. That crowd is amped up. This is Metallica on top form. Takes me back to seeing the band tour ‘and justice for all’ at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. That whole set was killer apart from Jason Newsteads bass solo. I remember at the end of the show they played Iron Maidens ‘The Prowler’ and a jokey version of ‘run to the hills’. Some of the guitar work on Blackened has always reminded me a bit of Iron Maiden. There is no other monster like Metallica, there were others but they died off, disappeared up their own arseholes or just became meaningless. Will the torch be passed on to another set of up and coming bands? Or will Metallica be the last of their breed. Whatever happens they will forever be tattooed on my soul. 🤘🏼

I honestly can’t remember which date I went on. I wasn’t aware that any of their London gigs were recorded. I remember the amazing camaraderie of the crowd outside waiting for the show. So many wearing Metallica t shirts, some holding flags. Talking to strangers about our favourite Metallica songs. The entire experience is one I will never forget. Going home on the tube ears ringing from the huge sonic battery. One of my favourite memories from my teen years. Up until then I’d only seen, Saxon, Iron Maiden, Uriah Heep and Motörhead and the only band that assaulted my ears like Metallica was Motörhead. I think I’d have known if it was the one that was recorded so I probably wasn’t at that gig, sorry.

This song is the benchmark of how well they’re still doing at their age imo. And after seeing this, I’d say they’re no where close to being done.

Wow, they killed it, I'm shocked at how amazing they're sounding considering they're pushing 60, they're performing at a level of men half their age and they're sounding downright incredible. Rob Trujillo's bass adds so much punch to this, fuck me, I hope to see these guys live sometime soon, because what a frigging show.

I would have to say that this is the best Metallica has played live in years. It's like they care again & have a little fire in them, as they did when they were young. Only difference is back on the AJFA tour, I seen them and the Cult for $30 a ticket. Now it's $250 to $300 for nosebleed, if you're lucky to get a ticket before they sell out 6 months before the show?

Probably the reason they aren't coming to my tiny Portugal, for this tour. And they play here all the time. I assume there's not enough market for such expensive tickets. Plus, for these gigantic concerts, unless you are right up there, close to the stage, it's not really worth it, in my opinion. To see them so far way. It's really psychologic, just to say "I WAS THERE!"

I must say that this tour is special. Through their smiles, their energies, the interaction with the public even before the beginning of each show... They show us that they take as much pleasure as we do. I can't wait for the next show, you know the one Lars promises at each end 🤘🇫🇷

They need to start rehearsing on And Justice for All, The Frayed Ends of Sanity (songs they haven't played live since a couple of years now) Dyers Eve, To Live is to Die (Songs they haven't Played live since +10 years), and Eye of the Beholder (They haven't played live in +30 years) and prepare to play live the Justice album.
