One of the bands that is excellent at taking you on a musical journey is Dream Theater. Breaking All Illusions live at the Boston Opera House is a great one to start with. They are a great band to watch live because you get to see them playing the super complex technical parts.

Great song that lyrically believe it or not saved a bunch of lives. I've been lucky enough to not have to suffer through a deep depression, but I know some who have. And some claim this particular song got them through without suicide.

If you would truly like to understand how great Metallica is with the actual musical portion you HAVE to watch/listen to “No Leaf Clover” that they performed with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. When you can take a heavy metal song and input an orchestra in there you know they are great.

Ride the Lightning is one of the best rock/metal albums IMO. Did you listen to "For whom the bell tolls"? If you are a guitar fan... it doesn't get much better lol. Opinions are subjective, I just love that whole album.

What song? U can try one of this song: Pantera "Domination" live at Moscow 1991, some of their performance at Ozzfest 2000, Pantera "Walk" music video, Panter a "I'm Broken" music video. I see many reactor don't have any copyright issued with those song.
