It was an interesting song. It was off Garage Inc. where I heard it. Man, Garage Inc is one of my top Metallica albums because of all the covers of bands they were inspired by. I passed on the earlier released $5.98 EP thing they did...because all of the songs also appeared on Garage Inc, and I would prefer getting that in a remastered session over getting a small piece of it.

I can't even describe the joy this song brought when we blasted it in the school parking lot and the teachers would just edge past us quick walking lol

They were scheduled to play King Nothing at the MTV awards but got fed up with the forced tv bullshit, and so decided to spice the night up with Last Caress and So What. Caught MTV completely by surprise and it went out totally live and uncensored. Watch the full video, at the end you can see the director and crew shitting themselves whilst frantically trying to stop it and paper flying up in the air and people being sacked. It was hilarious.

On MTV Awards 96 Metallica should play the song King nothing. On soundcheck they played the song King nothing. But they was angry that they didnt allowed to use pyro. So when they was live they played Last Caress and the song So what insteed.

For the covers you should hear the metallica cover of mercyful fate live with king diamond or blitzkrieg live in 86 is insane, metallica in their prime.

I feel like some kinda corrective needs to be applied to their song scores. My impression is that the vast majority of songs score very high in the 9's and 10's are much too commonly awarded.

Always preferred Metallica's version, but I'm so used to following it with "Green Hell" immediately after now.

The MTV thing is 9 minutes because they played “so what” before last caress which is a profanity filled song by hardcore UK band anti nowhere league. They told MTV they were going to play new single King Nothing and then shocked everyone when they screamed SO FUCKING WHAT out of nowhere

You should try & compare stone cold cray by metalica vs the original version by queen (use the live version of both songs). Last caress was inspired by Ed Geins the serial killer who inspired a lot of horror films like psycho & silence of the lamb
