• Metallica - Last Cares...
Metallica created mayhem by changing their planned song at the last minute. Instead of "King Nothing" the American band performed two tracks "Last Caress" and "So What", a strong rock anthem that references bestiality. The Metallica segment has never been aired since.

They were supposed to play King Nothing and then they switched it to the two covers at last minute. It was recorded live and MTV didnt realize what was going on until it was too late before they pulled the plug on them. One of the greatest moments in Metallica history and yeah, this was 1996, not 1986 for those out there that thought Metallica lost it after the black album.

a color data. Metallica in this concert had to play a song called "King nothing" From the album Load that they released that year. But because Metallica got mad at MTV, they decided to play two covers, Last Caress and so what. MTV didn't know they were going to do those covers. That's why at the end of so what they cut off James' microphone haha.

It was only MTV Europe that banned them, In 2003 they were presented with The MTV Icon award and given a 2 hour show that featured many other artists paying tribute to the band...

They got banned, but in 2003 MTV called Metallica to be the ''MTV ICON''. Pretty funny. "MTV Icon is a series of annual television specials produced by MTV between 2001 and 2004, each paying homage to a musical artist or band selected as a cultural icon."

Reminds me of when mtv refused to play anything by guns n roses. And when they did finally agree to play welcome to the jungle at the most stupid fuckin unsociable time of the the early hours on a Monday, the mtv switch board caught fire because it couldn't handle the phone calls requesting to replay it. and obviously mtv refused.......NOT

Well what happened was even though it was the European awards performance mtv couldn't re broadcast due to metallica using someone else's material despite being one of the headlining acts at this show. What they did took some huge cahones o to be a fly on the wall in the tv truck during that I heard the organizers had gotten furious tried to sue them which is chump change in there case

MTv might've been the biggest music network at the time but this is Metallica, the BIGGEST metal band of all time, they play by no ones rules. I wouldve expected something similar from Axl Rose if it were Guns n Roses circa 91-92 and MTv put some lame restrictions on them.
