I bpught Kill'em All at Record Factory in 83 because of the front cover and the band had long hair on the back cover. Now im laying on the floor at my moms house at christmas time watching this video 40 years later. Yeah mom, it's just a faze, lol.

They're not technically the best musicians (Rob is) they are the best at putting their style of music together. Writing and playing your pwn music is much more difficult than being technically great and playing music written by others.

My next door neighbor turned me on to this album back in 84. We lived in Japan at the time. Took a little longer to get stateside stuff back then. It was the fastest, craziest shit I'd heard and was hooked from then on.🤘🤘

i wanna see that do or die approach from Metallica like they use to have. They were incredible live. Seems the older bands know they cant be very entertaining like they use to so they add more & more pyro & gimmicks for entertainment.

Kirk sucks.... listen to a real guitarist, Steve Vai, Steve Morse, Steven lynch, Joe satriani who was Kirk's teacher in the 80s. He is so overrated that any 3rd year guitar student can play that stuff. Especially hiding your poor technique under a wah on every tune. But we all have opinions.

Apart from already using Eb flat tuning they also transposed Jump in the Fire down a half-step, so it sounds a whole step down compared to the original recording on Kill 'Em All. I'm guessing this was done to make it easier for James with the high vocals?

I have a question for true Metallica fans?. For of course cliff is a legend and shall always be. Jason was also very good-almost excellent you might say-but respect must be paid to Robert. There was a band in high school that played for whom the bell tolls. Never who sang it until a friend said it was a new band called metallica and this was in 1987. Ride the lightning came out in 1986 🤪🤘

Saw them play this album in its entirety back in 1982, it was all they had at the time, kirks 2nd gig with the band, i knew i was seeing something special and knew they were gonna conquer the world, had a beer with lars and kirk afterwards and told them so, i was right
