Yes dear, and (dears) all! This period of Metallica is unfairly hated, because I believe James' heart was in the right place. They didn't do anything wrong here, or on the Black record. If anybody wants to know the source of Metallica's change of direction, see the death of Cliff Burton. James was never the same again, nor should he be expected to be...

@johnbraucher1499 Жыл бұрын
It's about MOTHERS loving their CHILDREN tho. It's about HIM wanting love but a cold stone is all he sees. But he also doesn't want love so he wants her to let his heart go. It's about a struggle, mentally, with yourself, about fear of becoming TOO close to something or TOO FAR away from something, without strangling it to death with TOO MUCH love, or neglecting it with not ENOUGH love. . A balance, it's hard to do for anyone.
@celinehartmann4797 Жыл бұрын
@@johnbraucher1499 I heard this song some days ago and it is awefully touching. Your explanation is very good, thank you.
@briansmith2125 Жыл бұрын
@@johnbraucher1499 The cold stone is merely a mention of the fact that his mother died when he was 14. When had processed his family situation with dad abandoning them, and mom dying of cancer during that time, he was wanting closure but she was long gone. He tried to make peace with dad but ended up bitter about that after his dad died as well. This metaphor was not about balance, but the inability to make peace now with his mom after his rebellion with her in his youth.

The beauty of heavy / thrash metal isn't always how heavy their music is. It's how heavy their lyrics could be in their sporadic number of ballads.

That awkward moment when Metallica can write a better country song than most modern country bands...
@ddcs0s5 жыл бұрын
I listen to a lot of old country music and your definitely right there's a reason so much people like myself don't listen to county anymore Country music used to be very deep and meaningful writing music that touched people used to be the goal and it's not surprising that Metallica can basically write a country song because song writing has always been their strong point

If your Momma is still alive, go the extra mile. Tell her everyday that you love her. I did, and for me it is still not enough. I still have my Dad, they were married 55 years before Momma passed. Love your parents people before it is too late.

I still have both my parents, but the thing is, this song still makes me cry rivers, but mostly because of my father. I was never really that close to my mom in comparison. My dad taught me some of my most important life lessons. Some days I wonder what I would do without him, and the thought coupled together with this song is enough to make me cry entire oceans. I know this song is about James' Mother and I respect him endlessly for this kind of geasture. But personally, I have always been closer to my dad

"The brightest flame burns quickest" Тише едешь, дальше будешь, - That's what I heard her say Слышал я от неё. A son's heart sowed to mother But I must find my way Let my heart go Let your son grow Mama, let my heart go Or let this heart be still Yeah, still Да, затихнуть. Rebel, mind your last name A mother's love for her son Материнская любовь во мне Spoken, help me be Жила, помогала мне жить. I needed your arms to welcome me But, a cold stone's all I see Let my heart go
