My dad was a huge metal fan. He loved Metallica - he had all the albums from Kill 'Em All to Hardwired. I got introduced to Metallica when he played Master Of Puppets in the car one day. This was one of his favorite songs. Last year he got Corona, and he survived, only to die from cancer not long after. We played this song at his funeral. R.I.P Dad. And nothing else matters.

My dear dear friend Tim passed away earlier in november. He died at the age of 33 years old and he was one year older than me. His birthday was the day before mine. So my 33 birthday will be hell because we always talked on the 4th. This was his favorite band and this song was played on his funeral yesterday. Fucking heart breaking and the sorrow wont heal. He was the funniest person you could ever know and always had a girl by his side. He never ever went home alone. And we partied every weekend and sometimes more than that for many years. He was awesome and I loved seeing him bring the ladies home. He will be so so missed by a lot of people. My life will never be the same again without him. I love him now and forever and Metallica will always be a reminder of him. So this song is for Tim

I'm 52 years old and still blast heavy metal in my car. My "car neighbor" at each red light looks at me like I'm crazy which only adds to my fun. Getting older and is awesome because you truly, truly don't give a crap what other people think of you. I would never blast offensive music loudly though. I do draw the line there.

Back in the early 1980s, my mom took a vacation to Alaska. When she got home, she told me about a group of "nice young men" she met on the plane from LAX to I think Seattle. You told her about your music, the genre you played. She told y'all, I think my daughter would like that. Little did she know, all these years later, even her grandkids are fans.

Tomorrow or the day after, I'm going to my rehaB, I don't know the exact date yet. I'm terrified of going to hospital.
