@josephbishop3590
@josephbishop3590 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks gorgeous! This is by far the most sentimental of Metallica's entire catalog. And because of that, it will be their longest lived legacy. It touches on the most elemental and basic emotions....love and commitment. It was written and recorded 30 years ago and is as relevant now as it was then. They are also as profound as any artist, in any genre. Their style is heavy and unique. And completely essential.

@@dariananderson168 ...I'd put FADE TO BLACK down as reflective. It definitely invokes emotion, and even sung with passion. But Nothing Else Matters is about the EMOTION of love and longing. No disrespect, FADE is as powerful as anything in their catalog.
@josephbishop3590
@josephbishop3590 2 жыл бұрын
@@knightArtorias123 ... actually, UNFORGIVEN is one of my too three Metallica recordings. And one of their most inspiring tracks. And my response is similar to the one I made to @Darian Anderson...While Unforgiven comments on society's roles, labels and unbearable pressures, it provokes thought on the subjects. NOTHING ELSE is the artist's commentary on his truth about love. As long as he has his love and commitment... nothing else matters.

When you have explored multiple albums look for the stories that are being told from one song to another that is just a continuation of the same story. Chapters. From one album to another there are multiple three song stories.

Hi Jayy. Loving your reactions to Metallica. Please do a reaction to Fade to Black by Metallica. Probably the most poignant song that spoke to me after losing my cousin, who was my best friend, to suicide when I was 16. It strangely helped pull me through to the other side. I feel that it literally saved me from the same fate. It evokes so many emotions.

Never really cared for this single... but the ladies love it... The video showed the 1990 - 1991 recording sessions for Metallica's self-titled "black" album... James Hetfield wrote it as a love song for his then-gf. (Late) classical composer Michael Kamen added orchestra strings to the track... Ironically, 3 of 4 members of Metallica got divorced during the recording sessions (and James broke up w/ the gf) but the record sold 17 million copies in the US so far...
