Metal was still alive with good quality bands and albums in the 90's. It just went underground.

Viper Justice for All but that's about it. The Black album is okay but was a step down, after that they went to shit. If all you can think of is Metallica or Pantera when it comes to 90's metal, you are probably clueless on metal in general. There is a lot more to 90's metal than what mainstream media shows you.

that´s why i said "in some way", Metal never died, but, you can´t tell me Metal was as succesfull as it was some years before mid 90´s, from the bands you name the only one that got as big and influential as previous bands was Pantera and many of the other bands as good as they where they was under the grunge and post grunge movements in therms of popularity. But is a really long topic.
@stevebuschemi22057 жыл бұрын
lucky dominguez so it didn't die at all, metal got even heavier, went back to the nightclubs, real fans, no make up, no leather pants, real shitttttt!

They did this at a show I went to. And then a couple years later at another show an announcer said something similar and I thought it was the same thing and when they still hadn't come out a few minutes later I thought they were building it up, but as it turned out it really was cancelled because James injured his back on Lake Lanier jet skiing (Summer Sanitarium tour Atlanta, I think 99 or 2000). They did a makeup show at a better venue sometime later and it was a badass 3 1/2 hour set, best Metallica show I ever went to.
@Rickkelley3654 жыл бұрын
I've read that story from so many people in comment sections over the years and they all say the same thing: the venue was better, the set list was longer, and the show was amazing. They will always be the best, to me.
@tls58704 жыл бұрын
@@Rickkelley365 It was great, if I remember right they played like 3 encores, each time acting like it was over and unplugging guitars and leaving stage, lights out, and then busting out with another song. One of the most amped crowds I'd ever been in.

@twinglock40z3 жыл бұрын
Yep I was there. It was pretty cool to see the rest of the acts jam with different guys from Metallica...minus James. Also showed how much Jason actually contributed to the sound of the band. The makeup shows were pretty epic at the Lakewood amphitheater. But... just FYI James didn’t hurt his back at lake Lanier. He was actually arrested for boating under the influence by the Georgia department of natural resources.

Sean Marl I can see you're getting "nu metal" and "something I don't like" confused, just like most people who continue to bitch about modern metal simply because they don't like it. St. Anger is NOTHING like newer metal, so just because you don't like the album that doesn't mean you can just classify it as a genre that it clearly isn't. For fuck's sake, it seems like everyone who doesn't like a certain type of metal just labels it as "nu metal" so they can make up an excuse to bitch about it.

Basically, the guitars use wireless transmitters/drums are mic'ed up. There may be hidden amps/foldback speakers on stage, or the band wears "in-ear monitors" (high quality, noise cancelling ear buds). The signal goes from the instruments/mic's, is processed and balanced through effects stacks and the mixing desk(s), and the sound signals are sent to the "stage" for the band to hear, and to "front of house" for the fans and neighbourhood to hear. Hope this helps :)
