On July 7th of this year we were honored to perform at Arenes de Nimes, the historic Roman amphitheatre in Nimes, France, easily one of the most spectacular venues in the world. We thought it would be a memorable night, so we asked our friends in France to bring along a film crew to document the festivities. The result is "Francais Pour Une Nuit" (translation: "French For One Night"), the DVD of the evening including the full show, interviews with us, and five videos shot by YOU, our buddies in the audience. All this and more will be available starting November 23, 2009!
"Francais Pour Une Nuit" was extra special for us because not only was it filmed in France, but ALL aspects of the project are French as the show was filmed, recorded, and edited with French camera and recording crews, the artwork on the package and special box set (more on that in a minute!) were created by a French design team; even the credits are in French. The only non-French parts: the three Americans and one Dane on stage and the photos shot by Englishman Ross Halfin.

I agree 100% I love this song. Enter sandman went main Street and hit number one and I'm not sure if they had another one again they may have correct me if I'm wrong, but this is one of their best I have to agree with that.

James Hetfield and Metallica is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was the first Heavy metal band to have a album in the Library of Congress. No comparison

God Metallica is just badass. They play with SO much passion and love its insane. They are true musicians/artists. Composing that song. They created so many musical masterpieces. Fuck those haters. 80s-90s-00s-10s-20s I dont fking care. There is nothing out there that hits me like they do. Started to play guitar because of them and never looked back since.

Amen brother, I started listening to Metallica in 83 (just a 13 year old punk...) and was inspired by Lars(Nicko McBrain and Scott Rockenfield too) to play drums. Their first five albums were flawless and epic. Even Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath had a couple clunkers on a couple of their first records but not Metallica.

I can remember to the day I die the first time I heard this song. I was driving to work on an early morning and my local radio debuted this song. I can remember my excitement to hear new Metallica. I jammed along the slow part but hearing Lars' drum coming into the guitar solo had me completely on edge. Their previous album St Anger was an album that had no guitar solos, and was not very good. I remember feeling betrayed by that fact. So, hearing Lars' drumming coming to what I knew was a guitar solo, I came alive even before it began. By the time it was done I was left in my morning commute saying, "Metallica is back...FINALLY."

This album doesn't get enough credit as one of the best. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the sound quality. The riffs would sound mindblowing if it had the Hardwired to Self Destruct album production.

This song is killer, and I'm glad you rocked out to it. But... There is a music video for this song that takes the whole thing to the stratosphere. It's set in Afghanistan with soldiers going out on patrol. It's sending chills up my spine just thinking about it. You GOTTA react to the video.
