The middle finger salute is a nod to metallica's veteran fans. When the boys played local gigs, they would finish their set and the next band would start playing. The entire crowd would turn around and flip the following band off, expressing they're not there for them.

I mean the sound quality is so good because you’re hearing a soundboard recording that’s been mixed. It’s not like you’re hearing the song being picked up by camera mics.
@sopwithsnoopy87794 жыл бұрын
True, but virtually all bands do that for live albums/dvd's. They will eliminate noise (extra strings being hit accidentally, etc) and bring the different instruments up to the same levels. The only live album I know of that didn't is Kansas - Two For The Show. Kansas is proud of the fact that it wasn't edited, what you hear came straight off the recording truck tapes without being mixed. I'm sure there are others, but that's the only live album I know of that did that.
@sopwithsnoopy87794 жыл бұрын
@Kristine Rose I've only seen Metallica twice. In '85 and in '89. They indeed did have a really good mix both times. For me though, the best-sounding bands I've seen are Marillion (incredibly lush sound), Porcupine Tree (yes, they really sound like their concert dvds live), and Blind Guardian.
@TaSwavo4 жыл бұрын
Metallica give all ticket holders a live MP3 copy of the concert they visited within a few weeks. It is a MIC recording. 2017 Manchester on my son's birthday we hear some folks VERY close to the mike going mental. This might be soundboard but the REAL mp3 sounds pretty close tbh
