I am a lifelong Metallica fan, even though I didn’t hear them until the black album era. I’ve been with them through their stylistic changes and internal conflicts. While I like some albums more than others, I really honestly can say I enjoy all their music. They could probably switch to playing smooth jazz and I’d still love it.

I love Metallica. My first cassette of theirs was Master of Puppets. This was before Justice was even a thing. It was a different time. Unless you lived it you can't understand. Metallica was kinda scary to the mainstream listener who hadn't heard it yet. To even buy it back then, you kinda felt like it was bad or something, but we loved it so couldn't stop listening. Granted I was 10, lol. But anyways I've given every record after Justice a chance so me alone proves you wrong. It's just a fact the same energy is just not there anymore which is also fine. I like their new stuff. It's just nowhere near as good as the first 4. The Black album is in a class of its own though. Not better than the first 4 but different, and great. It's really an awful human being who judges people because they don't have the exact same opinions on music. But Kerry King says he has 5 or 6 leftovers from "Repentless" he's going to use on their next album. So one band puts the "not so good" songs on the side or on a bonus cd and another band will put 5 or 6 leftovers, that is songs that didn't make the album (that's only about 40 min. long anyway), that is songs that are "not so good", on their coming album. See the difference? And that's the difference in quality. And that's why Metallica are where they are.

I feel like it easily tops some of the weaker songs on the main album. 'Now that we're dead' comes to mind. That main verse riff is so great. Brilliant vocals on the 2017 version too.
