We had the great honour and privilege of chatting with the mighty Steve Lukather, the man behind Toto, and who has written and recorded some of the biggest songs in music. We chatted about a few things, like his new solo album "I Found The Sun Again", who he still would like to work with, the recent passing of Eddie Van Halen and one of his recent hilarious Instagram posts that went viral. One of the most fun interviews we've ever had at MMK. On behalf of the entire crew at Metal Master Kingdom, thank you Luke for chatting with us. It was a great honour and pleasure, and we look forward to next time.

Lukather is hilarious. I could listen to him play or tell stories or just complain about a neighbor all day.

Luke's a great guy. He makes time for a guy just starting out with just 571 subs as though he was a veteran YT host. I wish this YT channel a lot of success. I just subbed.

I love Steve interviews, yeah they go all over the place. People ask the same questions especially since Eddie just passed away with "Beat It" but mostly its the ZOOM thing that makes it hard. You don't have the in person vibe so hard to get questions in ect. Any thing I can get is just fine!!!!!

I feel the exact same way. I definitely consider myself lucky to have scored this interview with Luke, and had a fantastic time doing it, but I will always pick in-person interviews over virtual. With virtual, there's the delay in the connection, and you sometimes run the risk of losing the connection.

Let the interview flow & Luke finish his thoughts....hard to watch with the interruptions. Tell your stories when someone interviews you.

The point of an interview is to ask the questions and get the answers that your readers/viewers are interested in - an interview is not supposed to be a solo rambling, which Steve excels at :D

@@MagnusGuldbrandsen hey...take whatever Luke offers. The man is a bonafide LEGEND. Ask the first question and get out of the way! Lol. 😎🎸

@@tomulator There's the problem - as a journalist, you shouldn't be treating anyone as legends, even if you do admire them. A good journalist should have a plan for their interview, ask the questions that their readers/listeners/viewers want to know the answer to, and do their very best to get answers to those questions. Luke has a product to sell, thats why he's here - and the journalist gives his products exposure in return for answers to their questions... And so going on tangents is a bit impolite. Especially on a Zoom connection where it's borderline impossible to interrupt someone.

@@MagnusGuldbrandsen awe c’mon. Think you’re putting too much thinking into this. Anyone familiar with Luke knows exactly what to expect. They should also know what the “customer” (i.e., the viewer) wants...that is to hear and see Luke and absorb whatever tidbits he wants to share.

@@tomulator I've watched countless of interviews with Luke over the years, and most of them are quite bad because they let him get away with the same clichés and the same old babble over and over again. I mean, how many times does he need to speak about that he never thought Africa was going to be a hit or that his hair is real? He's putting on his interview "Greatest Hits", and I don't blame him for it - I blame the music journalists, who all walk away with brown noses. I mean, with some people your always going to get some of the same trobes, but I would love to hear questions like: "What is your role in this Toto turmoil? One day your selling out arenas, the next the band is dissolved", "What are the squabbles with you and the Porcaro family?" "How did a 40+ year relationsship all of the sudden go down the drain?" "Was it to do with money?" "Any chances of reconciliation?" Those are - to me - interesting questions, especially since he brings those topics up in small doses now and again, but nobody ever seems to want to go into it.
