Inabakumori songs always have this sense of melancholy, but never outright depression. He also uses the tone of the vocaloid to his advantage in ways that you just couldn't do with a regular singer. My favorite example of this is in Lost Umbrella, which I highly recommend checking out. I'd also recommend checking out the English cover of Lagtrain by Will Stetson (he's covered a number of Inabakumori songs, some of which are official). It helps the meaning of the lyrics come across clearer, although the metaphors are still mostly up to personal interpretation.

Actually it's very accurate, I'm a big fan of Inabakumori's work. There's older songs that are amazing like "Pascal Beats" or "An image in the Making" specially their arragement, Kaai Yuki's voice it's something else, also theres one "Non/USE" usnig both vocaloids Miku and Kaai. My favorite by far is Raining Boots.

Inabakumori songs weren´t that well known until 2020-2021 in the pandemic, when the really catchy Lagtrain took everyone by storm and repeated on everyones head. i saw her subscriber count jump from somwhere 300k to almost 700k at the moment of writing this comment. in just 2 years thats is a really steady and nice grow.

Cool interpretations! You have given me a new metaphorical perspective to understand Inabakumori. Your sensitive and emotional understanding of the lyrics have got me interested to try to winkle out the meanings in them. In my opinion, "school" in Kimi ni Kaikisen might simply be school instead of a metaphor for life; the emotions expressed in the song correspond to what most teen students in East Asia would feel, as they're stuck in the seemingly endless school life and usually under the huge pressure from their study workload, their academic competitions with peers (in countless exams), and their parents' and the society's expectations. Being exhausted in such situation, it's natural to arise emotions like tiredness, desire for freedom and spare time, melancholy, self-doubt and escapism. I (an East Asian) felt totally the same when I listened to this song for the first time when I was in high school and faced with academical setbacks. I think the song is talking about that first-class student's being tired and afraid of school because of its increasing workload and decreasing free time. (And maybe also, the decline of her grades despite great effort, which didn't match her parents' or her own expectations. I think this might be what "Junbibanzen datta noni ame ni nureteiru" ('Perfectly prepared and yet soaked in rain' as in the English sub) refers to.) Thus she started to doubt the meaning of school, and wondered which kind of life is the one she really fitted and wanted: to continue studying just as what most people do, or to explore her own way of life and do what she enjoyed. So in my perspective, the "you" in the song might refer to her parents who expect her to behave well in school. They made her "feel sick" for that she would be ashamed for "making trouble for you" if she escape school and be herself; they also "lent" her the "your sense of calm" ("anshin wo kimi kara kariru"). "You" could also be another mind in herself which demands her to behave and fit the values prevailing in society. Your interpretation is also inspiring and I wrote these not to deny yours but to try to express my understanding of the "you" in the song. Anyway I enjoyed your video a lot :D You can also check out Tokoshizume and Kitai Avenue if you would like some more metaphorical songs by Inabakumori. They are special in both the music and the lyrics!

this vocaloid is called Kaii Yuki, It's tuned very differently from the standard version but its become synonymous with Inaba at this point, though Inaba has worked with other vocaloids in the past and again more recently.

I think you were pretty accurate on your interpretations overall. To me it seems that Lagtrain is talking about wandering about at night to find some sort of lost meaning or purpose, and the days in between are a blur because of that lost feeling. Mind you, I don't know Japanese, so that's just me piecing together the more proper translations I can find rather than the I think Google Translate that you unfortunately got for that one. Lost Umbrella is actually Inabakumori's most popular song by view count which came out a couple of years before Lagtrain. Honestly I can't decide on a favorite song to recommend, but both Rainy Boots and Float Play have animations like these two and have official English translations on Inabakumori's channel as part of them. Also, Kaai Yuki is indeed a vocaloid and is who Inabakumori has used most often. P.S. Will Stetson has a great English cover of Lagtrain on youtube that captures the meaning very well, has 5M views, and the top comment on it is from Inabakumori himself.

the character is called Osage-Chan btw! im glad you are watching his amazing videos, about the Yoasobi effect you described, this and yoasobi's running into the night have always felt sad to me, even before i knew what they meant, to the point even I, a grown ass man, began tearing up while listening to it, Its a feeling that is hard to describe, the word melancholy comes to my mind but might not be accurate, but ive heard the piece is written in a way to sound rather sad (at least yoasobis) lastly, one popular interpretation of lag train is that its about the feeling of being left behind, hence why the train leaves without you as you shout ¨wait for me¨, and why you are ¨lagging¨ behind, however i believe theres no defined meaning so believe whatever fits you more id say, if i remember correctly, he came up with this while waiting for the train.
