I think its still a concept being high marketed. Its highly reliant on vr technology and ar tech which is still in its initial stage. Normal people can still not afford it and is very clunky at this stage.

Hey Ankur, this is an engineer and I have some different prospect on Metaverse, As we all want to live and feel our dream life and for that we develop metaverse, but the problem is to live metaverse you also need to work, work and earn and buy things, If someone really want to live his/her dream life and imagine that might be completed in Metaverse. Then also he first needs to pay the amount to someone for designing, developing and all other stuff. And a/c to my studies most of the people just want to live a luxurious, adventurous and a loving life. where ever in reality their main barrier in between is just money, they didn't earn that much that they want. And if Metaverse going to be a part of life, then human gonna depress in both the real and meta world and which might lead the humans for a battle against themselves.

Sir, what worries me extremely about metaverse is that it will skyrocket the narcissistic personality disorder in the world. Humans haven't yet learnt to manage their minds, and giving them "another" false world will make them absolutely loose themselves amidst "avatars".. I hope atleast someone starts analyzing the psychological aspects of it as well.. might save the world!

@Ankur, a small correction. Metaverse shouldn't always be connected to web 3.0 and it can be decoupled from decentralisation. This is the biggest misconception IMO around the idea of Metaverse. Biggest disadvantage of web 3.0 is lack of accountability and a good user experience. In future, both web 2.0 and web 3.0 based metaverse will exist and people will have a choice. For example, Horizon worlds by Facebook is still a web 2.0 based Metaverse and Decentraland, Sandbox are web 3.0 based. Also, apart from oculus, people don't have a good device that is worth buying and no proper use case that is solving any problem. As of now, The whole industry is currently waiting for Apple's AR/VR device to redefine Metaverse and the way we consume it and the way we work. Fingers crossed.

From my very limited knowledge of meta and blockchain, I donot know what metaverse will do to human life. We are social beings and the happiness you feel when you watch mountains when travelling in a car, cannot be substituted by anything thats virthual and screen based. If i cannot hug my queen and listen to her heartbeat while on a date, donot expect me to go to metaverse for dating. For enjoying 1 to 2 hrs a day is ok... but switching to virtual, thinking this is beyond the universe is a disaster to humanism. Think from a spiritual angle. We should stop falling to the traps of Zuckerberg anymore

I agree with your point sir... Subjectivity due to liberalism has paved the new way where we could do what we believe truly and strongly. Going to meta will introduce different type of social animal in us, as it happened with Instagram, WhatsApp etc. As you've righteously mentioned, going there for 1-2 hrs a day, won't do any harm, but abstaining completely from this is not a good ideA 🙂

It is like the “internet” but not at the same time. At least someone has been credited to have launched and named it “Internet” but it’s still isn’t mentioned to who initiated metaverse first, or who came up with the maw(I know about eh Neil stephenson’s novel and all) but that’s can’t be the origin of it all.
