@@mirikasha8561 yes.. I never cried after watching any drama. But lei.. He made me cry for an entire day.. I kept thinking as if I am a scientist or a programmer to decode what he had for shancai. And I concluded that he liked her, but never wanted to marry her or anything. He liked her just like we like and love our pet. He wanted to keep her happy but jing was his love forever. That is why he says openly that nobody can replace Jing, we love each other forever but we will never be possessive. But he treated shancai with so much warmth. It broke my heart when this shancai got down from the bus when si ran behind them, even though lei had already asked her if she is sure to climb the bus or not and she said she is sure. I understand love is blind and love makes us to do the unbelievable things, but friends are important yaar. How can she betray someone like him. If she wanted to go to Si, she should have not climbed the bus. I hate the script for being cruel to Lei. Atleast there should had been some hint about Jing returning to Lei or anything. May be just Lei receiving a message from Jing while they are watching the meteor shower in the climax- saying anything.. It's fine if it's blank message or the director do not show it to us.. But no.. The show ended without any hint and he was showed as a third person between the main leads. I hate the drama.. I watched it only for Lei

Lei was protective of Shancai just like Daoming Si. But like these lyrics said he was trying to distent himself from her. These Lyrics are about Shancai. Lei even played it for Shancai in one scene. He loved Shancai maybe even from the beginning. We don't know if he loved her as much or less than Daoming Si. People have different reactions and personality when it comes to love. But don't forget Lei even protected Shancai back in 1x03. Him telling his girlfriend that he only cares for her may have been another way to hide his true feelings for Shancai. He was probably torn. Because he was falling for the new girl. While still having feelings and Loyalty for his girlfriend. Unlike Daoming who was straight forward about everything with Shancai. Lei was trying not to act on his love. He had already shown signs of affection and protectiveness for Shancai even before he left for Paris to be with his girlfriend.

But he did throw champagne at one of the girls because of his anger for the danger they put Shancai in. That's something he wouldn't ordernarly do. He did something out of character because of his worries for Shancai. Another verson of this show boys over flower explains better about how Lei is Shancai's soulmate while Daoming Si is her true love in this life time.
